So bright it hurts your eyes.

Everyone in my family told me today that my shirt was so bright that it hurt their eyes.  Hey, cars have got to see me when I am out running and darting across the street.  I also really wanted to show you Brooke’s cute little carrot/bear hat.

This is how I feel about the fact that I have lost all 26 years of training at a high elevation.  Just 3 months at sea level has made me feel like I am kind of dead when I run in Utah.  I did 8 miles today in 63 minutes and came back with a face that matches my shirt.

I am not one to even think about going out on Black Friday because I really don’t love shopping… I like going for the social part of going with friends or family but not just to go buy stuff.  Good thing my mom did go out to Costco and brought me back the world’s softest pj bottoms and new socks because I lose a pair a day.

Now I am sitting at the counter eating pie while I try to figure out what to have for lunch (let’s be honest… it will probably be just another piece of pie) and watching my mom wrap Christmas presents.

Those PJ pants do look pretty comfy.

Tonight is date night with the boyfriend. We’re getting Chinese food and watching a scary movie.

love the shirt. Brooke is so sweet!
I feel the same way as you do towards shopping-blahh… except for Costco shopping and grocery shopping;)

those look so comfy i need to go get a pair. I went out this am to the mall at about 7 it wasn’t bad. I got some good deals at American eagle.

Definitely NOT a fan. Like clothes, hate shopping. I remember being at an outlet mall on Black Friday one time and it was the worst thing ever.

I do usually go out on Black Friday… but only for a couple of hours and usually not until later in the morning. All of the crazy sales are over and I just like to walk around and look.

Thank goodness I’m not full from yesterday because I want to have more of the good stuff tonight for dinner!

Love that carrot hat! A friend of mine has the cutest owl hat for her daughter. So cute!

Good news is…you get to go right back to running at sea level! ha. I love your jacket!

Ahh! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a photo of you where you didn’t have a huge smile on your face!

I’m not big on shopping. Online shopping has changed my life. I even bought my wedding dress online! I went out on Black Friday once, because my mom wanted me to go with her. We went to Target, the line was all the way around the store. We sat in the car with the heat on until everyone went in and then we went in. THEN when everyone went in and rushed to the tv’s and big sales, we hit the indoor Starbucks first. It turned out to be a perfect strategy because when we were checking out, the Starbucks had a huge line, so really we did Black Friday the right way!

My face looks like that ANY time I finish running, lol!

I am still full from yesterday and not feeling leftovers. I like to eat a nice big, over the top meal on Turkey day but get back to normal eating after that.

I am also NOT a Black Friday shopper. There is no deal, regardless of the savings that will get me to go out in that mess. There is just nothing I NEED that badly!!

You’ve still got pie left?! I may have to jump on a plane and come help you finish them off!

Don’t freak out but i had a dream last night that i saw you on the street and you were with a friend who was taking a photo of you for your blog. I asked your friend if you were Janae and she said yes so i introduced myself.
Anyways!
– I only like shopping if i find exactly what i’m looking for (which is rare) or if i don’t need to buy anything at all.
– My Friday night plans are looking after my hubz while he is sick. =(
– We don’t have Thanksgiving here in England but I did eat a lot of cheese yesterday which made me very full!

No shopping for me! I hate the crowds.

And I love the shirt. Traffic-cone brightness means safer running!

Oh girl I’m definitely with you on the shopping bit. We don’t have Black Friday up here in Canada, but we have something similar the day after Christmas and the stores become a zoo. I usually end up hiding out at home because long lines and crazy crowds don’t sit so well with me.

Hey! Okay, so even though you don’t like shopping…you have the cutest clothes! When I come to Cali, we need to have a shopping and froyo date so you can help me pick out some cute outfits! Then I can watch The Brookester while you run.

We went to the grocery store today to pick up frozen burritos…random craving, haha. Our main reason for heading out into the madness was to return a Redbox movie and rent another one–the burritos were a perk. Other than that, I never do the Black Friday thing…I don’t like crowds or shopping.

Our plans tonight involve eating leftover pie, playing board games in front of the Christmas tree, and watching a movie.

Have a great day!

I really like your super bright top!

I live for Black Friday. It is a holiday and a sport all rolled into one. I didn’t do it up big this year though. This was the first time I got a full nights sleep on Thanksgiving night in at least 10 years. That is not an exaggeration.

Yes, still full and I only had one plate. The pie for breakfast was amazing though. No to black friday for me, I do it online and get good deals.

I do not love shopping, but my sister does and I like to shop with her. She and my mom braved today, and her and I have a date for a few clothes stores together tomorrow. That’ll be my limit.
Tonight, Chris and I are watching a movie and eating pizza.
LOVE the hat!

We stopped for a quick trip to Jcrew on the way home today from our ski house and it was surprisingly not crowded. I’d never go at midnight though. I need my sleep. I really like bright running clothes- the more obnoxious the better :)

I don’t shop on Black Friday. Just not my thing. I don’t like to battle the crowds and I am really really bad at the impulse buy and regret. If you tell me I only have two hours to buy this at a discount then I will buy 5 and then return them all the next day when I realize I have no use for it.

Me and my husband are just hanging out at home tonight. My friend has a great tradition for the day after thanksgiving that him and his wife call “Home Alone Friday”. They watch Home Alone, order pizza (like he eats in the movie), and take all of their Christmas decorations out. Doesn’t that sound so fun? I want to do that next year.

I did do some shopping today….but only online! Seemed to me that the online deals were just as good as in the stores, 50% off everything on a bunch of sites and a lot had free shipping too.

Love your bright shirt!

Is that Blueberry Pie???? That looks crazy good!

Went out last night to the Coach Factory Outlet store and snagged a new purse. There is no way I would head to Target or Walmart on Black Friday!

We are currently driving the 20 mins to my Aunt House for my side of the family Thanksgiving get together. There will 30+ of us there!

Question : do you think it is lung capacity or hills that are killing you in Utah? Btw I can’t fathom a 7:30ish average pace!! :)

Brooke’s hat is so damn adorable I might actually cry.

I mean youre beautiful and sweet and all. But she is THE CUTEST THING.

I LOVE loud colors – so I am super happy that they are a trend now for running clothes! Brookes hat is adorable!

I’m definitely with you, Janae- never have, never will go out for Black Friday!!! Just not my type of fun (and I actually do LOVE shopping!!) I’m doing all my shopping online, thankyouverymuch ;) And, hi, I looooove your bright top! Where did you get it?

xo

I didn’t shop today either, at least not in store! Ordered a few presents online but that’s it. They could be GIVING things away and it wouldn’t be enough to make me want to deal with the long line ups, zillion people bumping into you and all the madness. I’d rather pay a little more for things than deal with it!

I love your shirt!! Bright = awesome :) And Brooke looks so sweet in the picture!

Nice job on the run…at least it gives your body a nice change from what you’ve been doing in CA. :) I do not like shopping nor will I ever go shopping on Black Friday…like you, I never have and never will…I do not like crowds and I don’t need anything that badly to deal with that hot mess. ;) I’m visiting my family until Sunday so ill be glued to their hips. Have a great night! Oh, and love the bright colors!

Am I the only person who likes to shop?? But alas, I’m in Canada so I can’t get trampled to death at Walmart ….

Haha I lose my socks all the time too, I’m asking for more for Christmas!

Nope hate Black Friday shopping. Um that carrot hat is too cute! I look forward to my run tomorrow while I’m in Cali. Ha we switched states!

I went black friday shopping and I still have not slept in over 30 hrs straight. I am not even tired yet.
Awwweee she looks so adorable with that hat!

I kind of went out last year the night before Black Friday. We mainly just drove around looking at how many crazies were out lining up. Twas ridiculous. I’m not much of a shopper. I used to like it more, but now I feel like I don’t even know how! Decisiveness isn’t my strong suit. Therefore, no Black Friday for mwa.

Reply

I loooooooooooooove to shop. And I usually go to the mall so it’s slightly less insane than Best Buy/Target/Walmart, I think on Black Friday, haha.

What a cute hat!!

Reply

i’ll be bright with you. Gotta show off that sweat somehow. Costco is the best, and so is your mom. Hug her!

Shopping during sales is not for the faint-hearted…it’s way too chaotic!

Reply

I do love (sales) shopping if I need something, but there’s nothing I need this year! I just went to buy another pair of nike tempo shorts to feel a part of this whole day though! ha!

Brooke is growing! awwwch, her cheeks!!

Reply

Of course I went shopping! After prepping myself with a little caffeine ;)

I’ve never been out on the opening of Black Friday, but my sister-in-law and I went out a couple times in the afternoon (after all the crazies were back home in bed). Now I just shop online!

We had Thanksgiving with my family last night since we were with Daniel’s family on Thursday. We had Italian – lasagna and manicotti – it was amazing!

We went to Target just before 7am. I had to work, so V was heading to his grandparents. We went for Brave and Madagascar 3. V really wants Madagascar 3 for Christmas, so we went to get them for his “cousins”. We got there and they were out of Brave, and we got the last copy of Madagascar 3. V says, “do we really have to send this to my cousins?” I said “yes”. V looked sad, and solemnly said, “I really hope Santa can find another copy.” LOL

you look like your non-curly headed niece in the picture after your run!
