Thank you, a first and fantasy cheesecake.

Because you all said a little prayer that my treadmill would work again, IT DID!!   The whole run I had my fingers crossed that the screen would stay lit because I knew Billy would have a hard time with me selling his car to get a new treadmill.

IMG 4649

PS I am guessing my treadmill malfunctions may have something to do with it being outside, not the actual model.  The thing is that there is no space inside for it so I just have to do a better job covering it really well with the tarp and hope for the best!

I finally made my way to Whole Foods and you guys are all right, it is incredible.  I walked around a few of the aisles but stayed in the bakery area for at least 40 minutes and I somehow kept walking by these bread samples…

IMG 4654

I know I would love every single item in there.

IMG 4655

Brooke was a little snoozer yesterday and so she left me to do other things than my usual Baby Einstein/tummy time/baby talk/singingfest afternoon and so I ate my peach and cereal bowl while reading your answers to the Runner’s Pop Quiz. I LOVED reading your answers!

IMG 4658

Nope, never got out of my pajamas and Billy came home from school to Brooke and I watching the Presidential Debate.   Brooke got bored because she can’t vote yet so she didn’t really care what they had to say.

DSC 4190

Billy has been having TWELVE hour days on campus (I think my head would explode if I had to do that) and so I wanted to make one of his favorite dinners for him to come home to.

I like to call these heaven chicken puffs.  I mixed cooked shredded chicken with garlic powder, green onions and cream cheese.  Then you wrap crescent rolls around them and top them with some butter and breadcrumbs.  I think it was 8 rolls with 1.5 chicken breasts and 1/3 of a block of cream cheese, I am really bad with measurements.   The carrots were steamed and topped with salt, I figure I sweat a lake when I workout so I need to load it on.

DSC 4192

The ONE thing that I bought at Whole Foods:  A beautiful slice of Fantasy Cheesecake (that is really what it is called).  I am learning to love cheesecake more and more because it is Billy’s favorite and as long as there is this much chocolate on it then I will love cheesecake.

DSC 4194

Billy was watching Brooke while I did dishes and I came out to find her on his pile of clean shirts fast asleep.   Good thing she didn’t spit up because I refuse to do laundry again for 16 days.

Did you watch the debate last night?

What was the last cereal that you had?

-Frosted Flakes (FMW in the morning).

If you could have any homemade meal made for you tonight what would it be?

-My mom’s lasagna, I miss that stuff so badly.  I am expecting it at least 4 times when I am home in November!

Hmmm…..I have NO idea when I last had cereal. I think it was chocolate cherrios with SunFlower Butter (LOL) The stuff is amazing and I can eat a ton but I have to steer clear of wheat these days:-( I have learned to love oatemeal though, and it’s SO filling.

I would go with curry. hands down. Any kind.

I’m currently running at a 1% incline when I run on the treadmill but I try to go outside more than not.

Reply

I haven’t tried the chocolate Cheerios yet…. How could I let that happen?!? Good for you to get outside and run!

Reply

I think if you mixed them with the PB ones (I love to mix 2-3 cereals at a time) it’d be an even better experience.

Reply

(1) It was feeding the FMW that made the treadmill work again – let’s just be honest here.
(2) Brooke is ridiculously adorable, awake or sleeping. I state that as if you didn’t already know.
(3) Cheesecake and I have come a long way – I used to despise it, now I actually enjoy it (but it has to be at least part chocolate)
(4) I avoid the treadmill more than I avoid getting the plague – however if I DO use it, I’m usually at a 1% incline bc I’m lazy when I’m on that thing.
Have an awesome day!

I am glad that your relationship with cheesecake has improved over the years:) you are SO right about the FMW!

Reply

I feel like such a cop-out…I don’t run on incline on the treadmill – oopsss!

Reply

Nooooo you aren’t at all! I really don’t think it makes a big difference at all! My sis doesn’t run on an incline either!

Reply

i just finished a bowl of crunchy raisin bran! it’s one of my current faves :)

Reply

Yum!!! I haven’t had raisin bran in forever, that needs to change!

Reply

FYI….Costco’s raisin bran is absolutely, hands down, the most amazing raisin bran!!!

Also, try the morning buns at Whole Foods bakery, I used to get them when I would go visit my Mom in Northern California…the kind with cinnamon and sugar on top….AMAZING!!!!

Reply

Last cereal was Rice Krispies loaded with banana slices and sugar lol.
Lasagna sounds ridiculously good right now so ill go with that as well :). As for the treadmill I will usually do a 1% incline as well although I run outside 99% of the time!

Love the pic of Brooke on Billy’s shirts! What an angel :)

Reply

Your last bowl of cereal made my stomach growl! Best combo ever!

Reply

Don’t worry Brooke, I got bored during the presidential debate too. But I am big and can turn on netflix so we got to watch the office (Did you know there are new episodes of the office on netflix now?). So glad your treadmill works again!!

Reply

Ahhh yes! Best news ever because we have watched the episodes that they had on there a billion times!
Thanks and have an amazing day!

Reply

So glad to hear about your treadmill!
I ate Raisin Bran last, but it isn’t nearly as good as in the states. Did you know you guys have Raisin Bran Crunch with granola chunks in it?! It is amazing!

Reply

I didn’t watch the debate. I actually completely forgot about it. Whoops.

If I could have a homemade meal, it would probably breakfast for dinner. Maybe I’ll make Mike cook tonight.

I actually hate putting my treadmill on an incline. I figure that when I run outside, I’m always running hills, so I give myself a break when I run on the TM.

Reply

1. Yes and it was awesome! Mitt kicked trash.
2. My husband recently bought that Boo Berry and Count Chocula cereal. It’s okay, but I suppose since it’s halloween time, they were selling them and he needed to reminisce.
3. Homemade meal….I can’t think of anything at the moment.

Glad your treadmill is working again! Brooke is getting such chunky cheeks… I love it. That cheesecake looks yummy.

Reply

I am a bad American and did not watch more than 4 minutes of the debate. Got caught up doing chores and work. Oops. I will catch the next one ;) I rarely buy cereal for the house these days but everytime I work I eat a bowl of Lucky Charms (gotta love hospitals and their individual servings of cereals!). I would looovvee to have some homemade moussaka right now. yummm.

Reply

Literally just finished a bowl of cereal – Kashi Cinnamon Harvest, Puffins, banana, cinnamon, and almond butter. Ahhh so good. I need to go back for seconds… But I could definitely go for some of my mom’s backed Mac&Cheese. If I call her at work and beg her to make it, you think she would? Fingers crossed!

Reply

I’m definitely going to be trying those chicken crescent rolls!! I’m a horrible cook, but it seems simple enough! :)

My favorite cereal is plain cheerios, but without milk! I’m like a kid still! ;)

My favorite homemade dinner is this chicken curry and rice dish that my mom used to make me!! Super delicious and super unhealthy!

Reply

Brooke looks like she’s having a happy dream in the first photo! I almost never eat cereal anymore, only granola.

Reply

Being Canadian we only watched a bit of the debate.
Multigrain Cheerios, in my Greek yogurt!
So weird I did not read your answer but thought lasagna instantly, and typically I am not even a huge fan of it! Guess I am craving it today ;)
Usually a 1.

Reply

Yes, I’d choose my mom’s lasagna too (w/ turkey meat or meatless) salad and garlic bread…that’s what she always served. 1% incline for running, yes I watched the debate and tweeted things I probably shouldn’t have. However, I DID hold back whether people think so or not. Brooke is getting big WAY too fast. :( I want a baby…kinda.sorta. I make those chicken things too, w/ wild rice and a sauce on top…so good. The sauce has like sour cream, cream of chicken soup and lemon juice. Laters! Jessica

I had cereal this morning. I mixed a few different kinds of Kashi cereal with banana figs and almond milk… Delicious! I am with you, I’d love to have my mom’s homemade lasagna. Incline, what incline? ;-)

Reply

Your daughter is just adorable!

I am awful and I didn’t watch the debate. Instead I started a blog. lol The last cereal I had was lucky charms. ahh they are soo good!

Reply

That last picture is absolutely precious :D

Reply

I have been loving cinnamon cheerios lately! I have been trying to limit myself to a cup or two because I could eat the whole box!

I love baby Brooke sleeping on the t-shirts! She’s such a cutie!

Reply

Those puffs sound AMAZING! I have to try them. Brooke is such a cutie!!

Reply

Did you watch the debate last night?
Yes, and was so happy with the clear Romney win.

What was the last cereal that you had?
So embarrased to say…Cookie Crunch! You caught me with your question at a week moment. I am usually a total Frosted Mini Wheats (like you) fan! I have been loving the blueberry muffin FMW flavor!
If you could have any homemade meal made for you tonight what would it be?
Cornish hens and rice….a huge favorite!
Treadmill users: What incline do you put your treadmill on when you run?
0… I don’t like to run with the incline. I get enough of that out my front door…

Reply

Wow, right now I so badly wish that my boyfriend didn’t have to eat gluten-free because those chicken stuffed cresent rolls look SO good.

For a homemade meal, I’d want my mom’s chicken and dumplings, my absolute favorite.

I was always a slacker and left the incline at 0, but since I gave up my gym membership now all my runs take place in the great, hilly outdoors. :)

Reply

I absolutely watched the debate last night, and I’m definitely feeling a bit let down this morning. So glad about your treadmill! I knew you would like Whole Foods! I got to go yesterday while I was in the City for work, and I almost didn’t come home :)

Reply

I wish there were gluten free crescent rolls, I’ve seen so many easy looking pinterest recipes with those!

Reply

I wish I could run on a treadmill. I mean, physically I can, but mentally I can’t. I feel like a hampster. I usually give up after 5 miles. There’s only so much Kardashians and Married to Jonas that I can watch. I live in DC, and even when it gets cold I just pile on the layers.

P.S. So glad I found your blog! :)

Reply

The Strawberry FMW was my last cereal. If you like strawberry milk, these are for you!
I keep my TM at 1%
I would take you homemade pizza right now.

Reply

As fellow Canadian (i’m such a geek lol) my husband and I thought we should watch the debate but sorry kinda lost interest and reading blogs took over:)

Evening snack was Rice Crispies with cinnamon along with grapes (i ate about my body weight in grapes:) I’m racking my brain trying to decide what homemade meal I’d love to have tonight but ever since I got pregnant I have to decide what I want on the spot…can make planning meals a bit tough sometimes. I definitely know that I’d love my mom’s carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Can I have cake for dinner?

Heading down to my treadmill now for my run. I usually keep the incline between .5 and 1%.
Have a great Thursday:)

Reply

I watched the debate last night with a huge bowl of popcorn in my lap! This morning for breakfast I’m having “pumpkin pie.” What I like to do is take .5 cup of canned pumpkin, mixed with 1/4 cup of egg whites, add some stevia, and some pumpkin pie spice. Microwave for 2 minutes (or until the consistency looks good) and enjoy! Tastes like the filling of pumpkin pie :)

Reply

I did not watch the debate. It makes have anxiety.
I love Whole Foods too! Super good! (and super expensive)
I want to make those chicken roll things!! They look so good! I know Ryan would love them like Billy does :) yummm

Reply

Whole foods also has an amazing variety of hot soups made in store! I know it’s ridiculously hot here now, but come winter when you’d rather spend your entire shopping budget on soup than have to actually cook, it’ll be fantastic :P ). If you like seafood, then try their seafood cioppino. I’m worth every bite and loaded with fish (so you get your money’s worth)!

Reply

We did not watch the debate.
Cheerio’s
Spaghetti. Or Beef Stew
I don’t run on a treadmill right now. But even when I did I didn’t mess with the incline much.

Whole Foods is wonderful, I could wander there forever!!! Just wish my bank account liked to play there a bit more. I wasn’t paying attention to the price once and am not good at figuring the math out at the meat counter anyways. I ordered 2 nice porterhouse steaks and the guy handed them to with a sticker that said something like $50. I almost had a heart attack and considered ditching them in the cheese aisle but instead I came back and told a little white lie. I told him my husband just called and we misunderstood each other and he had already picked up the steaks for that night and quickly gave the butcher back the $50 dead cow. Crazy.

That meal sounds great and I will have to give it a try next week. Thanks.

Reply

Usually I leave it on 1 or 2…and crank it up to 3 or 4 if I’m feeling spunky ;-)

Those chicken rolls look deelish…I’m convinced anything stuffed in crescent rolls is always incredibly GOOD! I like to make these rolls stuffed with spinach and goat cheese…hard to eat just 1 :-)

Reply

GIRL-you are SPEEDY!

Incline is either 1.0 or 1.5 for me (when running). ANd I love that pic of Brooke asleep on his shirts: TOO CUTE!

My mom-inl-aw makes those crescent chicken things, and my hubby likes ’em too. Gotta make those for him soon…..

Reply

Yes, we watched the Presidential Debate last night and ate Turkey Chili…multi-tasking at its finest. I’m not much a cereal person, but when I do eat it my favorite is frosted mini wheats. If my mom made me a homemade meal tonight, I would want BBQ Ribs, potatoes, and a wilted lettuce salad. I keep my treadmill at a 1% incline.

Reply

Your Heaven Chicken Puffs are making me drool.

Absolutely not.

I just at some honey almond granola mixed into plain Greek yogurt. Delicious.

I would request that my mom make her homemade chili and cornbread. I could eat that’s for every meal for several days in a row.

my treadmill mostly stays at a 1 percent incline but I like to raise it a tiny bit if I’m feeling particularly good that day.

The picture of you and Brooke on the couch is adorable. You should frame it.

Have a fantastic day!!

Good news about your treadmill working again! I wonder if it had anything to do with that heat wave we had.

Your Costco has such an awesome bakery! We don’t have all those cute little cakes at the one in Monterey. Or maybe I’ve somehow missed them. Must. Go. To. Costco.

Reply

Ok, need more coffee apparently. I see now that was Whole Foods. Duh.

Thanks to you, I had a handful of Cocoa Puffs before going out the door for my early run this morning! My husband is the cereal eater in our family (he eats it for dinner with milk and peanut butter and has the metabolism of a 10 year old), but during my pregnancies (33 weeks wooohoooooo!) I don’t mind snacking on it from time to time since my indigestion is through the roof and I can’t eat my normal veggies.

Whole Foods is great, glad you finally got to experience it!!!

Reply

So I’m curious to know, without starting a debate, which presidential candidate the Jacobs are hoping will win the election?

Reply

Yay! Glad your mill is working right again! :) I always keep it at 2% unless I am doing incline intervals. I hope Billy doesn’t have too many more 12 hour days…that stinks!

Reply

I watched the debate with some friends and didn’t get home until midnight! About 5% of the night was debate related and the other 95% was girl talk.

I run at a 1% incline.

Brooke is sooooooooooooooooo cute. I will never get sick of pictures of her!!

Reply

I was driving home from vacation so I missed the debate. Last cereal I had was golden grahams! It’s sweet without being to sweet. Most of the time when I run on the treadmill I do a 3% incline.

Reply

Last cereal I ate: Multigrain Cheerios PEANUT BUTTER. I ate it with plain yogurt and sliced banana. It was pretty much spectacular :D

Reply

OMG that dessert case at Whole Foods look rediculous! I had no idea what I am missing. . . I might have to try to make a trip there this weekend!!! That chicken dish looks super yummy and easy. When I use the treadmill, I usually put it at 1% – I think I read somewhere that a 1% incline is the most similar to outside running. :)

Reply

I can’t even talk about the debate last night. Ugh, too frustrated.

And the last cereal I had was Raisin Bran which was lovely. I haven’t had that in forever and it reminded me of my mom for some reason. ;)

Reply

I’m Italian.. and our Thanksgiving always starts out with lasagna at 1pm then the turkey and whole shabam at 3 or 4.. and then cake and pies around 6 with coffee.. I’m pretty sure this is common for most northern Italians.. it’s to die for!!!! I am not kidding when I say that Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday.. even more than Christmas as a little kid!! The walnuts and fruit on the coffee table.. my dad watching football with my brothers.. and me and mom in the kitchen.. oh em gee I can not wait!!!!!!

Reply

I watched the debate until… I fell asleep :P East coast time!

Last cereal: peanut butter balls [my hubby’s fave] and Kashi Go Lean :)

So happy to hear that you have become friends with Whole Foods ~ that makes us friends too:) Next time you go try out their Flax Seed/Quinoa bread. It is soooooo good and it must be really good for you if it is made with flax seed and quinoa.

Here is a recipe that is very similar to the one you made for Billy. This is something that my husband loves having during colder weather ~ mmm mmm good:)

I love Whole Foods! They have the best prepared food section for a great lunch option! Cheesecake is my boyfriend’s favorite dessert that I make at home.

Anything my mom makes would be great since she’s in Taiwan. Hopefully when I visit in December, I’ll get some homecooking outside of eating restaurant yumminess.

When I’m on the treadmill, I try not to make it too steep since I like to run fairly fast. I don’t mind it steeper when I’m power walking though.

Reply

I feel like I could eat a big thing of mashed potatoes right now because I haven’t had them in a long time and for some reason mentioned them to a friend today. I could also eat about any dessert right now…you name it, I’d eat it!!

Reply

The hubby and I ordered takeout and watched the debate together after we put the kids to bed.

I hate the treadmill but I usually put it at 1% when I use it for running. I need to go buy some cold weather running gear because I need to get outside for my runs! Any favorites for running hats, gloves, rain coats. etc?

Reply

I watched the debate…I’m a bit of a political junkie.

I had corn flakes and some mixed in nutty HEB brand cereal at lunch. I am so cheap I always mix corn flakes in with fancy (read….more expensive) cereal to make it last longer. Old habit from my college days.

I have my treadmill on 2.5, sometimes 3.0 when I run on it which is as little as possible! I love to run outside, even in the horrible early AM heat.

Your baby is so cute, what a blessing she is!

I would love to have some of my Dad’s gumbo. He made the best gumbo! I have tried to make it like he always did but it is just not the same. My mom gave me a receipe as best she could remember it, but it just doesn’t have his zing to it! I think he must have had some secret ingredient he never told anyone! LOL

Reply

1) No debate for me last night. I prefer to get caught up by watching the rediculous recaps on “The Daily Show” ;)

2) Team Cheerios this morning!

3) Meatloaf! It’s one of the few excuses to eat copious amounts of ketchup in a single setting

4) I put my treadmill at 1%. I’ll have to bump it up! ….then work on increasing my speed!

Reply

I love how you felt the need to tell us about your FMW this morning…just so, ya know, we didn’t worry about your taste buds or anything. ;)

Brooke is so precious. :) I love the last photo of her.

As far as last cereal I ate, I had a mixture of honeycomb and golden grahams with peanut butter. AhMazing!

Yay! I’m so excited! I just decided to run my first half-marathon at the SLC Marathon in April. Thank you for the inspiration.

OK, this might be tmi/gross but speaking of sweating a lake, i got to ask you a question girl: your hair always looks so damn good. do you wash it EVERY time you work out? do you do the cool/nasty thing I do (dry the sweaty roots)!? how do you do it?!

Chex, my Dad’s split pea soup and sausage!

YAY! You’re liking cheesecake!!! It took me a couple years to start liking it. Whole foods looks SO GOOD!!!!

You are a girl after my own heart! I was just going to comment I want a piece of the cheesecake in the second row, on the far right. And then I continue reading and see you had a piece of it! Please tell me it was as good as it looks!

Did you watch the debate last night? I watched part of it.

What was the last cereal that you had? Frosted Mini Wheats

If you could have any homemade meal made for you tonight what would it be? Creamy potato soup! It’s cold and rainy here. :-(
