Fluffy carbs dipped into frosting.

I no longer shower or get ready before 5 pm.  Billy gets home at 6 and so I make a mad dash to the shower (if I choose to take one for the day) at 5 so that when he gets home he doesn’t think that I go everywhere in my sweaty gym clothes, so far I have him fooled.

My mom requests self-portraits on the blog because she misses seeing me in real life every day.  Hi mom!  I wonder what my excuse was for all of the self-portraits I took before moving away from my mom?!

Yesterday after school Billy finished unloading my car that was packed full of stuff.  We officially now have all of our stuff here.  My biggest piece of advice to you is to move when you are 9 months pregnant or you have just had a new baby.  This way you never end up having to carry one box and instead you and the baby cheer your husband along while sitting on the grass.

The amazing Monica forced (actually it didn’t take any convincing) me to give her my address so that she could order dinner for us and have it delivered.

I am positive that blogging friends are the best.

I think Billy teared up a little when he saw the pepperoni pizza and he thanked Monica from the bottom of his heart.   Those little garlic bite things are ridiculous.  Dominos- way to go.

The cinnamon sugar bread needs its very own picture because it is just that special.  I would love to meet and personally thank whoever had the idea to dip carbs coated in cinnamon sugar into frosting.

To add to Brooke’s many moods this is her suspicious face that she made when I was telling her a story.  She is learning at a very young age to not take anything I say seriously and that 94% of everything I say is an exaggeration.   Her hair is getting spikier every day.

Photo 2 1

After dinner Brooke and I went on a little walk while Billy got some reading done. I am really loving the summer (is it still summer?) nights in N. Cali, they are the perfect temperature.

I usually get pizza from the local pizza shop because it is SO GOOD. Pizza is my favorite food and theirs is fresh and delicious.

Today in New York City it was so humid and warm that it felt like mid-July again. I much prefer 80 and sunny without the humidity, but we only get about 4 of those days a year here.

That photo of Brooke being suspicious is so cute! I love her many moods.

I’m a jersey girl.. we live right over the bridge from NYC and I still order Dominos.. every single person I know thinks we are crazy.. but it is sooo good.. and thick.. and the cinna stix.. herlow?!?!?! I mean thin crusted Jersey pizza is da bomb too.. but only if you eat it in the pizza parlor.. take out choice #1 is def Dominos.. which btw is like 4 blocks from our house.. yay!

Okay I loooove dipping pizza crusts in garlic sauce but cinnamon bread into frosting sounds even better…kinda like a cooked version of Dunkaroos!

Quick question: I am pretty sure I read on your blog about a compression sock giveaway. You had linked to another person who was doing it. I am trying to find the website again but ccan not remember the name of it. Was it your blog? The site has many different colored compression socks and every month they do a special on a different color.

By the way, I do the same thing everyday! I shower right before my kids get home from school. My daughter hates when I pick her up from practice in my gross gym clothes that I have had on all day! Although I never blow dry my hair so it is always dripping wet when my husband gets home.

Pizza is from Marks Pizzeria.

Reply

Adrienne, it’s procompression.com, and they have a great offer this month.

Reply

Thanks! What is the deal this month? I signed up for the emails, but it said I won’t get the first one until the next newsletter.

We live about 10 steps from a grocery store so we normally buy frozen pizza. I couldn’t tell you the last time we ordered in. That store is a lifesaver on nights when I don’t feel like cooking. It doesn’t happen often because I enjoy cooking but when it does I am quite happy.

I really wish the humidity would go away. I am feeling so discouraged because the weather has really been kicking my butt. I have a half in 2 1/2 weeks I was hoping to PR in. That’s not looking likely at this point. Oh well, I suppose it’s not the end of the world.

Reply

Humidity is such a beast! Good luck with your half!!! :)

Reply

I almost always order from my local pizza place, which is the pizza I literally grew up on. All they do is pizza (no salads, sandwiches, pasta, or desserts of any kind) and it is amazing. The Italian man who owns and runs it is adorable. If I’m out and about and can’t get Wedgewood, I really like Hungry Howie’s — the ranch-flavored crust is my favorite! :)

I live in Ohio, so our summers are usually pretty humid and brutal. We were back up to 90 degrees last week, but we’re cooling back down. I think we got down to like 68 degrees last night, but the humidity is so high it still felt like we hovering around 85…I do not like humidity/mugginess one bit.

I get up around 4:30am Monday-Friday. I do not like talking about that. :)

Reply

This summer when I wasn’t teaching/working I wouldn’t get ready until close to noon, but now that the school year has started again I get up at 5, workout, and then shower/get ready for the day. It’s a big difference!

Reply

Your best piece of advice cracks me up, and Billy’s face is hilarious following that statement! I haven’t met any bloggers in real life, but don’t be surprised if I have a “random” run-in with you one day in a yogurt shop! :) haha

Reply

Usually from Panago Pizza, I think is Canadian though? Maybe not..
Its cooling right right down! I think I am okay with it though, hot Sept days are nice but it is not the same as a hot summer day.
Hmm… maybe a dozen but I want to meet more.
I get ready at 7am most days.
Brooke is so cute! I love all her photos :)

Reply

I think I have that same pink hair dryer! Too funny.

There’s a place near me called ifratelli that has the best pizza! I refuse to order from anywhere else anymore. I love thin crust margherita style pizza.

Reply

we usually order our pizzas from our local pizzerias but every once in a while we do dominos or pizza hut, i still think its good! and the cinna stix are definitely the best!!!

the weather was cooling down last week but now its in the 80s with 100% humidity, seriously not fun. i NEED fall weather, stat!

Reply

O . M . G . – her hair is freakin’ adorable and that face is priceless! That meal looks so yummy…I didn’t get to have my weekly fix of pizza last week…perhaps tonight will be the night, lol. We order it from a shop right near us that is fabulous and it’s great because it’s in walking distance. Have a great day with Brooke. :)

Reply

I used to get ready in the mornings but I am usually trying to get a shower in before the husband comes home too. Usually like three in the afternoon.

That pizza looks super delicious right now! Even though it is 8 in the morning…

Reply

That pizza looks amazing! We always order pizza from Pizza Hut. It’s my fave. Mainly because of their cheesy bread sticks. They make me swoon :)
If only they would invent a carb free pizza that tastes like a cupcake I could die happy and guilt free.

Reply

It’s super hot here…just gross. Laughing that you’re one of us now…the women who wear sweaty lounge pants all day, shower last minute and straighten up the house quickly so we don’t look like lazy butts. :) I’m not that bad (every day), but I remember my mom always saying around 5 p.m every day, “I’ve got to run and put my face on before your dad comes home.” In otherwords…her make-up. :)

Btw, Monica’s awesome for doing that!

Reply

You look amazing! After I had my baby I’d do the same thing as you. I’d make a mad dash at 11 since my husband gets to come home for lunch everyday at noon. Haha we are sneaky!

Reply

Cloverleaf pizza all the way! :) I live in Michigan and the weather is surprisingly still really warm. I’m excited for fall weather, but I’ll take it while it lasts…..it never lasts long enough haha

Reply

I’ve never met any bloggers in real life. But, would love to get together with you. Let me know if that works (I’m in Sacramento).

Reply

We need to meet up soon!

Reply

We usually make our own pizza using the Trader Joe’s pizza base. They can’t be beaten, those home-made ones!!

I’ve never met any bloggers in real life either, but should meet a few at my next half marathon. I’m really excited about it actually!!

Reply

Jenae, Brooke is adorable! And you have got to be the cutest blogger hands down. It is obvious that you seem to be the sweetest, most outgoing blogger. I love that you love to eat as much as I do:) Just wanted to say ‘hi’. I am in S Cal, but would’ve loved to run together if I was up north. Welcome to Cali!

Reply

MICHELLE!! Your comment made my day, thank you so so much. We should run together next time I am in southern Cali!

Reply

you look amazing!! you don’t even look like you were ever pregnant. And that pizza looks incredible!

Reply

That was so sweet of her!!!

Right now, getting ready takes place some time from mid-morning to mid-afternoon…I can’t get ready before disconnecting from a device around 8 or 9, and usually want to eat something before showering, but I’m not sure how it ends up afternoon sometimes.

Reply

There’s a place here called Pizzaiolo that has the BEST pizza. That was so nice of Monica!! What a great friend :)

I’ve actually met a lot of bloggers in real life! A lot live in Toronto but I’ve also met Julia (from Utah), Corey @ Learning Patience (from Trinidad), and Meg @ A Dash of Meg (from Saskatchewan)! Meeting bloggers is so much fun :)

I love Brooke’s spiky hair! She is just too cute!

Reply

Love that photo of Brooke! I usually order pizza from Dominos or Papa Johns.

The only blogger I have met in real life is my favorite, YOU! Glad to see you, Billy, and Brooke are enjoying life in Cali :)

Reply

That was the BEST MEET-UP EVER!!! Seriously, you guys need to come to N. Cali next and stay with us, I am totally serious!

Reply

My favorite pizza is from Papa John’s and its had been much too long since I’ve had it! Adding it to my to-do list! ;)
Brooke’s look in that picture is priceless. hehe

Reply

She is just too stinking cute! My sister had hair that stood straight up all the time unless she was in the bath and it was great because we had all those funny pictures to show off once she got to high school ;)

I’ve met a few bloggers in real life and they have all been amazing, nice, and great people! I’m so lucky to have connected with them, never would have happened without the blog!

Love Brookes spikey hair.. super cute!

I live in Sac, so not too far from you but we are in the valley and it has been HOT! It was 95 yesterday, I’m ready for fall to get here. It is cool at night and in the morning though, so it isn’t toooooo bad.
I LOVE Monica at Run, Eat, Repeat! That is awesome she had food delivered to you!
P.S. I’ll be emailing you the gnocchi recipe today.

Rachelle, I miss you so so much! Will you be around for the week of Thanksgiving so we can meet up?

I’m in Southern California and it is especially humid today and even drizzling a little bit!

At what week did you start wearing a support belt during your pregnancy, and where did you buy it? I’m 29 weeks and had some cramping after my jog this morning, I’m hoping that maybe a belt might help?

Reply

Hey Robin! I think I started wearing it right around 29 weeks too. That cramping is not fun and the belly band helped me BIG TIME! I hope it does for you too!

Monica is a sweetheart. How kind of her!

Love Brooke’s hair. Love it.

It is showing no sign of cooling off in Florida. At least 90degrees and humid everyday. I am counting down the seconds til cooler weather :/
I haven’t met any bloggers yet but would love to grab some fro yo if you’re ever in north FL!

Reply

You better believe if I am ever there we are getting froyo and same goes to you if you are ever in N. Cali

Reply

I’m in Texas and it is definitely still hot! It will be in the triple digits the rest of the week, but this week a cold front comes through and the high will be in the 80’s. We might need to break out the sweaters! ;) I haven’t met any bloggers, but I really want to….I need to go to a conveniont or something.

Reply

I usually like to order from Round Table but they are pretty expensive and pizza wasn’t great last time so no more for me.

I am south of you in OC and it is still warm though today is much better with a marine layer – needs to cool off! I like my perfect CA weather, not the hot stuff we have been having.

I met Heather (365 days awesome) briefly at a race. I have seen Skinny Runner, Monica and Sarahoul but never said hi, felt like a big ‘ol dork. “um hi you don’t know me but I read your blog…”

I usually get going around 6:30 am and have to be out the door to work – with baby by 8:00am. Today was a rough one….And how exactly will I do it with a toddler and an infant?

Reply

Glad Dominos didn’t think I was playing a trick getting it delivered to another address! Love you guys :)

Reply

HAHA LOVE YOU!! Seriously, we are already looking forward to the leftovers today. PS you rocked that running skirt!

Out of curiosity, do you give Brooke a binky? No judgement either way- I’m years away from planning a family but think I would try to keep my baby off a binky since it seems so hard to ween them off it later. My goddaughter is 2 1/2 and has the most lovely smile but it’s usually covered by her binky! You make it look like having a newborn is the most fun job ever :) you’re jump starting my uterus! I vote for a photo tour of your place in Cali because it looks amazing! Please keep blogging for years to come so I can continue to cyber stalk your life every day. You’re fab! Is it weird that I think we have a one sided friendship? ;)

Reply

Hey Christine! I gave her a binky once but she didn’t care for it and I am totally okay with that. You are so sweet!! That is a great idea, I will totally do a photo tour once everything is put together. You are the best, keep in touch!

Reply

I haven’t met any bloggers in real life, but I’m hoping I can see you some time (now that you’re in the Bay Area and Billy goes to SCU Law <–same as my boyfriend!).
My FAVORITE place to go for pizza is J.T. McHart's Pizza in Cupertino. You should go there if you have a chance. The workers and owner are all SUPER nice and the pizza is awesome :D

Reply

We usually get pizza from Little Caeser’s, because it is cheap.

It was super hot {98 degrees} yesterday…but it’s supposed to be back to the upper 70s/low 80s.

I have not get met any bloggers in real life…maybe someday.

It all depends what I’m doing as to what time I get ready…but if I don’t have plans it’s none too early…

Reply

If I’m not ordering local then I love to get Papa John’s. They have the best garlic dipping sauce! That pizza is making me hungry. :)

Reply

I LOVE that suspicious face! What a doll she is!

Reply

i usually make my own pizza, but my favorite pizza out is def mellow mushroom! so delicious and so many options!

Reply

Gyah, Brooke is getting cuter every single day (if that is even possible because she’s so darn lovely already!)

I just drove by SCU and apparently the Stuft pizza by SCU campus is now a Pizza My Heart. I HIGHLY recommend it! Delicious pizza!

This is a weird week of weather here in the South Bay. Supposed to heat up again soon and be normal. Fall doesn’t really happen until Octoberish. Though it does feel like fall. It’s just a late summer storm right now :)

I usually drag myself out of bed by 6:30 to get to work by 8. traffic sucks if i don’t leave before 7:30 :\ I need to get up earlier to run before work, which i just did today and got rained on. lol.

I have met one other blogger in person and that was just last weekend. It’s strange but fun at the same time because you ‘know’ the person online but are finally meeting for the first time…. I enjoyed it. I would love to meet other Bay Area bloggers! (I’m in San Jose) Want to do a blogger meet up?

Reply

We usually order from Extreme Pizza… they have awesome fresh baked chocolate cookies!
Haven’t met any bloggers in real life, but if you come running in Marin maybe I will! :) I’m also hoping to meet up with Miss Zippy at CIM in December.
Hmm, what time do I get ready? Not sure I ever do! I seem to live in running clothes and shower only if I am going to see people I know!

Reply

Its hot! I mean hot and humid, I can’t wait for Savannah to cool down. Are “low’s” are in the high 80’s. I loathe it.

Reply

I meant “Our low’s”…this humidity is getting to me!

Reply

I love Brooke’s suspicious face! It’s so perfect. And that Domino’s order is not only delicious, but like the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard!!! What a dear friend to do that! I love it, and I’m definitely going to do that for my brothers who live on the East coast- it’s genius!!

Reply

If we can, we love to grab a pizza from Johnny’s, but if we want it delivered to the door, we go with Papa Johns. However, the ultimate place to get a pizza here where I live (Woodstock Ga.) is at Fireside Grill. They have crazy concoctions like Ham and Figs..but for some reason…it works.

The weather here in Ga (we are about 30 minutes north of Atlanta) is still hot in the late morning till mid afternoon. It has begun to be cool in the mornings however. I like my windows to be open if its 73 and below….and so far this whole week, I’ve been able to keep them open till 10 am, and then reopen them around 9pm. Not to bad.
The humidity is the main problem however.

No, I have not met any bloggers in real life…and if I’m suppose to be one to comment here, than I am truly sorry..I have no idea how to even begin a blog.

I am up and ready by 6am. I am a stay at home mommy, but with a 5 year old in Kindergarten and an 11 year old in 6th grade middle school, they have to be out the door by 7:15, I find its just soooo much easier to be dressed and ready before they are. Yes, I drive them..no way are they getting on the bus. However, after wards, I get to drive past Starbucks, get a coffee and come back to my nice quiet home where I can watch anything I want on TV. No cartoons, no ESPN. Then at 9:30am, I clean up whatever is out of place and plan for dinner. Usually around this time the next door neighbor pops in, or my mom, or my mother in law, etc. I make cakes..so plenty of times someone is calling up for one :)

Love Dominoes Cinna Bread!

Reply

When my husband gets home, I quick jump up and start running around the house like crazy working, and pretend like I’ve been doing that ALL DAY LONG when really I’ve been on the couch. LOL

Glad you’re posting more self-portraits!

Reply

My very first thought of dipping carbs into frosting was Dunkaroos… I actually just did a blog post about snacks from the 90’s, so I guess those were fresh in my mind. Man those were good…

Unless I get ready and get my butt out of the door first thing in the morning, I’ll be lazy and stay in my PJ’s for pretty much the whole day. It’s too bad I can’t do that more often because of work :( And can you believe that up here in my part of Canadaland, the leaves are already starting to change color? Yeah, it’s getting a bit chilly already…

Reply

Is it still hot here? Ummm…. if you count the temperature last week that was like 65 degrees and cooled down to 55 degrees, I guess it is cooler. :) If you don’t mind the rain (about six months of non-stop drizzle-deluge), it is the perfect running temperature. Highs of 50 in the winter and 60 in the summer. I’m not sure how it is where you are, but my part of coastal N. Cali is very very moderate.

I don’t order pizzas, but I’m big on the Freschetta and Digiorno kinds. We keep a couple in the freezer and call them “Emergency pizzas” for when we don’t want to cook.

I also wait until about an hour before Hubby comes home before I change from my PJs and brush my teeth. Such a rough life, I know ;)

Reply

I missed seeing her cute little face while I was on vacation! She has gotten bigger in just 5 days- SO crazy! LOVE her hair, I don’t think I’ll ever stop telling you that :)
Why didn’t I think of sending you guys food? That’s an awesome idea- so sweet of Monica!
That cinnamon sugar bread is the BEST..the only way it would be better is if they gave you TWO dipping sauces ;)

Reply

I live in Charlotte and for whatever reason, a ton of bloggers live in this area. Most of my closest friends have blogs!

So cute that your mother asked for more self-portraits, by the way. :)

Can I just say that you look amazing???? I’m sorry it’s been so long since I commented on a blog post of yours! Life’s been hectic here – finally feel “ready” for baby #2 to make his/her entrance =)
I love Monica – I had the pleasure of meeting her in Texas in March as part of the Team Refuel campaign…and the food idea is awesome. I had a few friends send dinner the first couple of weeks after AJ was born – SO appreciative of not having to cook !!!

Reply

Ahhhhhh, I LOVE cinnastix. Don’t take pictures like that when I’M still pregnant. I seriously want to make my husband run out right now and get some. I can taste them in my mouth. OK, I’ll stop because I could seriously go on!!

Reply

That is so awesome that Monica sent yall dinner! What a great friend! I would offer but I live on the east coast and we are 3 hours behind you, I don’t think you would want to eat dinner at 2pm lol
And as always Brooke is adorable!

Reply

Her hair is maybe one of the top ten cutest things I’ve ever seen… Brook looks like a little rock star.

I’m in Arkansas and we’re in the middle of a heat wave, so it’s still getting up in the 100’s on a pretty much daily basis BUT it’s supposed to start cooling down this weekend…yippee!

Reply

We don’t order pizza that much, we usually make it at home. Although, I don’t think we’ve really had pizza at the same place yet since we moved over a year ago. Dominoes is pretty good though. That was so awesome of her to order you dinner! It started cooling down here but this week has been rainy and humid as we are catching the edges of hurricane Issac. Can’t wait for the humid to leave!

Reply

I love your non-moving tactic. We always seem to move on Christmas break when I have the time off of work but my husband doesn’t – I think he does it on purpose.

Reply

OMG! Monica is the best!

Pizza hut is my fave because of their cheese bread sticks, but Dominos is pretty legit too!

It is still hot and humid here in Houston!

I still haven’t met any bloggers in real life. But hopefully that’ll change eventually! SR and Running off the Reese’s are both coming to Houston for the marathon. fingers crossed!

I usually get ready at 6:30a because I have work at 8.

Reply

We don’t have cinnamon bread and frosting in UK Dominos :( Looks yummy (and incredibly unhealthy!)

Reply

Haha I have a feeling most of the nights the temp will be great in Cali! And how sweet of Monica!

Reply

Sometimes I miss the pizza chains like Dominos and Papa John’s, but we have great little pizza shops here. The man that we bought our house from owns a great place a mile up the road, so that’s where we usually order from.

The weather here is crazy humid, but it’s getting cooler!
