I was on E Hollywood Network, The Soup!

First randomness of today was that I was on TV for .3 seconds.  A few people emailed me saying that they saw me on The Soup (a show that basically makes fun of other shows and is pretty hilarious).  They were doing a segment about Inside Edition and they showed the clip that I did about pregnant runners!  It is at 59 seconds in case you want to watch it  HERE!

Sometimes you have to sacrifice your body in order to have delicious watermelon to last you the next three days of your life.  Luckily I moved my feet out of the way when the knife dropped but somehow it did get my finger a little bit.

Billy, remember the deal we had about you not coming within 3 feet of this bowl of deliciousness.

Today was a pump day followed by a run.  The belly bra has saved my life and I have ran four days in a row with no cramping.  I had to fuel all of that running with more pizza and watermelon.

Since it is Thursday Billy has the day off from school so that means he gets the pleasure to hang out with me all day.  A pizza party (husbands out there reading this….you can thank me later) is the best way to start your couple marathon.

My nephew was making fun of me for dipping my pizza in bbq sauce?  Is that not normal and delicious?

A few weeks ago I shared part of an article from Running Times (ps they never talk about weight loss if you are looking for a running magazine that doesn’t go on and on about that kind of stuff) about a 16 year old girl with a mile pr of 5:15.  I was reading it again last night when I was up eating my cookies because I couldn’t sleep and I wanted to share the last part of her article with you.  Reading about other people’s love for running is always really contagious!

Today I ran for the very first time since I had major hip surgery in March. I haven’t stopped smiling!

ALI!!!! OH MY GOODNESS!! This absolutely makes my day. Congratulations! You have been through a lot!

Reply

Today’s workout was a hot 8-mile run outside followed by 10 minutes of core work with a stability ball.
That watermelon looks perfect for a day like today!

Reply

Way to go girl!! Teach me how to not be a wuss about running in the heat! Hope you get some watermelon asap!

Reply

Hey- thats awesome about the segment on E.. still exciting even if it was short!

OMG how have I not tried bbq sauce with pizza!?
Lets see.. my workout today was a 70 minute outside bike ride.. and when I was at the pool with the kiddies I nanny for I swam about 30 minutes of laps. I forgot how much I love swimming.

Fave dipping sauces are bbq sauce and marinara sauce- last night I mixed bbq and ketchup and it was delicious! And yes I’ve had a million kitchen injuries- One time I dropped a boiling pot of water on my bare feet, another time I sliced my pinky really bad on a soup can and had to get stiches.

Reply

You seriously have to try the bbq/pizza combo. DANG GIRL…way to get your swim and bike on! Great workouts today. I am going to have to try that combo…two things I love.
Oh my goodness, your kitchen injuries are awful!

Reply

I just watched that clip! How funny that they chose your clip as one of the ones to feature on the Soup!

Speaking of pizza and BBQ sauce, I’m making BBQ chicken pizza on the grill tonight … can’t wait! :)

Reply

HAHAHA I know…pretty crazy. Oh girl, you better put lots of pictures and the recipe on your blog. Have so much fun and enjoy:)

Reply

I love it when you post these little running stories! So inspirational! Now I just need to remember it on my run tonight :)

Reply

I hope you have an amazing run tonight Caroline!

Very cool! I like most E channel shows. Went to Spin class in the morning, it was freezing outside so I’ve been doing indoor classes. I used to be a cook in the army and have cooking oil burn marks and defiantly have had my share of knife cuts, but all my fingers are accounted for, phew!

Reply

FREEZING outside? Where do you live? Great job getting to spin! That is so cool you were a cook in the army but those kitchen injuries sound awful!

Reply

I cut my palm too on spaghetti can lid, seven stitches. I live in New Zealand, it’s winter time so I get to read your blog with all your summer time pictures and summer fruits, it makes me feel warm and hungry for watermelon:-)

Reply

Sweet Baby Rays in the BEST bbq sauce. When its on sale, I buy like 10 bottles at a time!

Reply

You should get the huge things of it at Costco.

LOVE the USA 1/2 Championship photos! You guys kicked butt!

Reply

I have never tried BBQ on pizza… but I will next time (and we already have a bottle of Sweet Baby Ray’s in the cupboard). I love to dip pizza in ranch dressing… YUM!

I’ll be looking into the running magazine that you mentioned since I am just at about the end of a huge goal to lose weight. I won’t need to read all of that weight-loss stuff anymore!! Woot! Anyway, aside from reaching the weight loss goal a HUGE positive outcome was my newfound love of running!!

Reply

Yes try it. We are out of ranch…now I am craving that. Stephanie congratulations on reaching your goal, you are incredible. I am especially excited that you love running now too! Let me know what you think of Running Times!

Reply

Youre a celebrity!!!:) I ran 6.5 today outside and am itching to get 5.5 more tonight, we shall see! My husband is obsessed with BBQ sauce!
I frequently stab my fingers with little kitchen knives:) ouch.

Reply

HEY YOU!!! I hope you get to get in some more miles tonight:) Great job!

Remember the other day when you asked if we had met any celebrities? Now I can I have met one more – you! lol. Too bad that your clip didn’t include a trip to meat Joel McHale to be on the show. I heart him. I don’t watch the E network, but only because I don’t have anything besides the basic tv you get through the antanae. My sisters and mom, however, do watch The Soup.

I pretty much did every piece of equipment in the cardio room today. What can I say? I have ADD and can’t stay on the elliptical for 60 min straight. Today SHOULD have been Turbo kick, but the dr said I can’t do it with my lame foot. Boo!

Is salsa a dipping sauce?

That girl is 16?! I did NOT talk like that when I was 16! Heck, I am not that eliquent now. I LOVE what she wrote though!

Also, random side note, Jeff one eff lives in the apartments right behind my husbands work. Now that I know this I am going to stalk him and make him tell me who wins ;)

Reply

HAHAHA Seriously, I am amazed that Joel didn’t want me to meet him. I CANNOT do the elliptical most of the time for longer than 20 minutes….I need details about your foot right this second woman!
AHHHH YES, please stalk Jef!!!

Reply

I went to an orthopedic dr because my foot has not gotten better and the pain is sooo random – can’t figure out what it is. I can definitely run through it. But I am worried that if I DO run through it, then it will become something that I can’t run through anymore…and that thought KILLS me.

Any who, they did x rays looked at it and couldn’t figure out what was wrong. They suggested an MRI, but we have a high deductable insurance so it would be $1500….ya, not going to happen.

He said to not run or do high impact for 6-8 wks and then reevaluate. Then I told him I had a half next Saturday. Ha! So he said I could do it at my own risk & I would most likely be okay, but no other high impact until then and take time off after.

Why can’t he have some sort of psychic power and tell me what is wrong? I love paying butt loads of $$ to learn NOTHING.

Reply

Totally random $.02 from a stranger: shop around for MRI rates. I got mine for under $800 and it turned out to be the thing that allowed for diagnosis and treatment. The nice thing about the high deductible plans is that you aren’t locked into one clinic – call around to stand-alone MRI places – mine was in a strip mall. Great service, very little wait and waaaay more affordable. Good Luck!

Reply

I plan on running 8 miles after work. Since it is nearing triple digits and humid I am going to run 2 mile loops around my apartment and stop in for Gatorade/water. That way I might survive and not die. We will see.

Reply

That is a great idea Jessica. I hope you have a great run and that it cools down a little bit for you. Way to be tough and run in the heat!

Reply

OMG!! I’ve been obsessed with the E Network since I was a little girl. I even remember when Gregg Kinnear hosted The Soup (which was called Talk Soup then). Congrats on your new found fame! :)

Reply

I love that you were on E Network!! How exciting!!!

My workout today is my tennis class. I have fallen in love with tennis and get so excited every night I have class!! And I have to say, that quote from running times made me all teary. LOVED IT.

I love to dip things in Ranch and in Fry Sauce (thank you Utah for that gem).

I don’t recall any recent kitchen injuries but I managed to light something on fire in my kitchen when the boy I liked was with me. SO embarasssing. And he STILL brings it up. Ha.

Reply

I was a prep cook all through high school and college, and have sliced my fingers open in every way imaginable. I was known in one restaurant for always needing a band-aid, but it wasn’t my fault they didn’t properly sharpen their knives!

Workouts.. I got in a 2K open water swim this morning, am going to do my 30 Day Core Challenge workout, and hopefully get in a bike ride! I love tri training!

Reply

MMMM BBQ sauce and hot sauce are the best for pizza!! Pizza just isn’t the same without it!

Reply

Totally watch shows on E. kardashians is probably my fav waste of time!!! Workout hasn’t happened yet cause of being in car unless walking to and from tucanos salad bar counts. But yesterday I swam and thought of the days when you had to swim. If you go to my blog you can see my sweet diving board skills!

No kitchen injuries but in college Kate cut her finger on a can and passed out on me in the kitchen! I freaked and called 911. After she was okay I sat and bawled in my car for an hour.
Love you!

Reply

I had a 15 minute warm up, 10 minutes steady, 20 minutes cool down. In the base phase of training and it was my first quicker run! Felt soooo Good! Tyler rode next to me on his bike :)

Reply

I’ve been eating watermelon every day this week. My Bf Bryan isn’t a huge fan, so that’s good for me!!

Reply

I don’t get the E Network but so cool that you were on it. We may as well consider you a celeb now! :) Today’s work out will be a run with my friend after work and then some weights in the gym. My favorite dipping sauce comes from the Hula Grill in Maui and it’s their signature dipping sauce. I love it and always buy 3 bottles when we visit to bring home with me. Knives and I in the kitchen is always an injury waiting to happen. My worst injury was about a year and a half ago when I sliced my thumb really bad. I still have a scar and if you push on it it hurts.

Reply

I love the clip of you, you look so happy!! And bbq sauce and pizza is amazing, add in some ranch and it’s even better!! Enjoy your night :)

Reply

Ha! You blogged about the Soup clip! I love it. The episode actually played twice in a row, so this time I was able to force my boyfriend to watch you go by as opposed to my first time of just scaring the crap out of him with my yelling :)
haha- he still thinks I’m insane.

I had the most flavorless watermelon today and am very upset about it…yours looks super delicious and juicy!

Reply

I love that part of the article, thanks for sharing!

Reply

COOL that you were on there!!

YAY :) Love pizza. YUMMMMMM. Favorite dipping–is Nutella or Hummus (depending on the item being dipped).

Reply

I ran 6.5 this morning with my dog. So much fun!

I dip my pizza in Ranch dressing. Nothing like adding a few hundred calories to my pizza!

Reply

I dip my pizza in ranch dressing. Thanks to you, I’ve started making my own ketchup/mayo fry sauce.

5 recovery miles this morning, since I did my long run (15mi) yesterday. I had to do it yesterday because a CRAZY heat wave is coming tomorrow and I might melt doing a long run in 100+*!

Reply

Congrats on being on TV!! I don’t watch a lot of E channel, but I do like The Soup; I think Joel McHale (is that the hosts name?) is so funny.

As for kitchen injuries, I have lost track on the number of times I have sliced myself with a knife or splashed my skin with boiling water. I am a total kitchen klutz and should just be banned from ever cooking again (I wish).

Reply

I’m not ashamed to admit that I watch The Kardashians on E (Ok, maybe a little ashamed). It’s like a car wreck, I just can’t look away!

My workout today consisted of 1 hour on the elliptical.

My favorite dipping sauce is ranch. But there’s a certain barbecue sauce from Cincinnati that I absolutely love and comes in a close second.

Reply

You are a mini-celeb! I love E and my favorite show is probably Chelsea Lately. Today was a pump day for me too plus some spinning! My favorite dipping sauce lately is hummus. I guess it isn’t much of a “sauce” but sweet potatoes + hummus is incredible!

Reply

that watermelon looks so delicious! I had a kitchen scare recently, too, when the knife fell on the floor and I jumped out of the way so it didn’t stab my foot! and I love E network, but I can’t watch it if Billy is home – he pretty much hates it all. ;)

Reply

The Soup and Fashion Police are my favorites on E! I can’t wait to see you on there and point you out to my fiance!! Is it weird that he knows who you are from me mentioning things I read on your blog to him? Suuuuper creepster.

Reply

Oh my gosh LITERALLY as I read this post, the part of the soup you were on had played about 3 seconds before!!! Obvi I had to rewind and rewatch! Such a funny show!!!!

I love dipping in Marinera!

Reply

Don’t hate me but I don’t like BBQ sauce! It’s just too smokey sweet for me.

Chelsea Lately is my fave E show although I do love watching the mindless reality shows too! It’s a guilty pleasure that I don’t like to admit. ;)

Reply

THE LINK DIDN’T WORK!!! Boo! I wanted to see you rise to the top with your fame.

Reply

Saw you on there! I love The Soup, its my favorite on E! besides the Sex & The City re-runs.

Reply

Girl, you’re so famous!! lol I used to watch The Soup all the time when I was living in the dorms. That and then Chelsea Handler after. Best way to spend a night!

Reply

YAY!!! I’m so happy you found the clip online :)

and I don’t know if this counts as a dip….but I dip EVERYTHING in hummus!!!!
workout-I’m looking forward to a run tomorrow (good ol’ treadmill) and a (very) mini-triathalon on Sunday!

Reply

Plus….pregnant women jogging! lol :) I love it

Reply

I’m going to have to take your knives away like I did with my mom! She kept cutting herself while cooking (she even once served a twice baked potato with blood to Daniel hahhahaha), so I told her she could only use spoons from then on. :)

My workout this morning was a freaking hot short run with way more hills than I was anticipating. It was hard. I also taught Zumba tonight and then did several chopstick curls as I ate my sushi.

I love to dip things – usually just in whatever else I’m having. I like to mix ketchup and mustard together for things like hot dogs or burgers, or sometimes I’ll mix ranch and bbq sauce, or ketchup and mayo. I’m a weird dipper.

Reply

I love the Soup! Joel McHale is pretty hilarious. I couldn’t watch the clip though! Bum city!

I just did a mini dualthon at the gym today! A 20k on the bike & 5k on the ‘mill :)

Reply

Thank goodness the knife didn’t catch your feet!
My workout today was a 30 km bike and 5 km run. Then a nice, long walk with the pup. It was a great evening!

Reply

Haha too funny, because I just watched that episode before I came onto your site, and thought it was you but then thought I just was seeing things possibly. My favourite dipping sauce would have to be ketchup or avocado. Yum

Reply

Congrats, Ms Celeb :)! I love pizza dipped in ranch dressing- so good!

Reply

congrats!! and i’ve never heard of the pizza dipped in bbq — but now that you mention it, it sounds pretty fab!

Reply

Ouch on the knife experience! I accidentally sawed thru part of my hand while cutting a bagel! No stitches needed but it freaked me out enough that I always buy precut ones now lol.
Favorite dipping sauce has got to be sweet and sour!

Missed my workout today…couldn’t get off the couch but will try and get a run in tomorrow :).

Reply

the other day my foreign friend and i were eating sushi and dunking our little maki rolls deep into the soy sauce bowls. then we talked about how japanese people use like 1/100th of the soy sauce americans use. and how americans like to dunk everything in something. i <3 condiments

Reply

AHHHHHH!!!! Girl you are so famous!! That is way awesome and I totally love the soup.

Now we will be saying we knew you when ;D

Happy Friday!

Reply

Totally saw you on the Soup last night! I was so excited.

Reply

I love the dipping sauce with Papa John’s pizza. Sadly, we don’t have any PJs around here.

I don’t even like watermelon and that looks amazing.

Reply

yes to the kitchen injury but my funniest injury involved bread at church.

We had a First Aid demo and a large spread of what you can do with your years supply. Thirty women standing around talking and eating and I got distracted while slicing some bread. Oh, man, the knife was super sharp! I didn’t cut all the way through the end of my thumb but it was close…grabbed a napkin and calmly walked over to the guy who did the first aid demo and asked for help.

Babied the cut for a little over a week and have no scar

Reply

I’ve had that BBQ sauce (we get it from Costco) it’s delicious!!!! So good to make shredded chicken BBQ with!!

Reply

I decided to take up cycling for cross training, and went out with a group last night that did 30 miles in a little over two hours. I was wiped out! Running is so different than cycling. Triathalon, here I come?

Reply

Kitchen injury: As a teenager, I was drying the dishes and dropped a table knife (pointy, serated kind). It stuck into the linoleum floor. I was so impressed that it stuck (my Mom was not) that I didn’t notice until about 10 minutes later that I had blood dripping down my calf. It had sliced me on its way down! No run that day.

In addition to using your belly as a place to put your bowl, have you ever set your remote on your belly when the little one is kicking lots? It’s hilarious.

Reply

That is so cool!!! A little celebrity!

Reply

You’re famous!! :D Love that! Of course I had to go & watch it!
I’ve been eating WAY too much watermelon lately. Wait..is there such thing as too MUCH watermelon?! I don’t think so ;)

Reply

I watch A LOT on E!, but most consistently, E! news, every night, and the soup! can’t believe you made it on…so awesome!

Reply

AHH! I saw it last night but I just happened to not be in front of the tv, I remember hearing them talk about the pregnant runners!! I can’t believe that was you!!!! hahaha

Reply

How very exciting that you were on The Soup for a minute! You are getting more famous by the minute girly!

Reply

OMG you are on the freaking Soup!! You are my hero!!!
