The Best Way to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo

I can actually say (I promise I am not exaggerating like I do in all of my other posts) that yesterday was my perfect day.  It was even extra awesome because the day started at 4:30 in the morning for the race which meant we were celebrating for way more hours than if we got up at our normal Saturday wake up of 11.

After hanging out at the race for a while we finally made it home and showered. We got ready in lightening speed because we were hungry and needed food.  I told Billy all I wanted was a sandwich with meat and cheese for lunch to be happy and so he chose Jason’s Deli.  I couldn’t pass up their salad bar so I got a half turkey sandwich and the salad bar.  They have my all time favorite salad bar.

Reason #729 to go to Jason’s Deli is for the FREE soft serve (and they give you free pickles) with your meal.  Which one do you think mine is?  Hint: I have way more practice and experience in making the perfect ice cream cone.

After lunch we drove up to Park City and as part of my perfect day I took a nap in the car.  Naps are worth gold to me.

Park City has incredible Outlets where you can find some killer deals.

My favorite purchases have to be my new hippo necklace, an elephant onesie and a dress that will fit my growing stomach from Banana for EIGHT dollars.

The next place that you have to go to if you are ever in Park City is Main Street.  We walked around a little while, sat on a bench in the sun and people watched until we got hungry for dinner.

Billy did his research and found an awesome place to eat.

I am mad at our waiter for cutting the food out of our picture….um hello, normal people want to pose with their food right?

I guess I will just have to show you a close-up then.  When we walked into the restaurant we did the ‘look at other people’s dishes’ to decide what we wanted and we both saw the salmon with coconut curry and polenta and had to order it.  Best salmon I have ever had (key to good salmon: lots of butter).

I may have told Billy a month ago that I would need a carmel apple on our anniversary and lucky for us The Rocky Mountain Chocoalte Factory was right across the street.  Oreo for B and apple pie for me.

DSC 0733

It started to get really cold outside and so we took the apples to the car, turned on the seat warmers and ate them in the parking lot. Perfection.  I guess the views on the drive home weren’t so bad either.

PS In The New York Times list of the best cities in the world to visit, Park City was ranked #9!!! How about we all sign up for the Park City Marathon together?  WHO’S IN?  We can eat salmon and carmel apples after together and then go spend all of our money at the outlets!

———————————————————

What is the number one city in the world to visit on your LIST?  (Either you could have gone there or you want to go there)

Favorite carmel apple toppings?

-Crushed up Snickers used to be my favorite but now I am all about the cinnamon-sugar.

Tell me what must be involved in your PERFECT day.

Right now it is New York but longer term it is Santorini, Greece.
I have never ate a caramel apple they turn me off cause of how they stick to my teeth!
Perfect day – a bubble bath and reading my book, some sort of exercise or anything active, followed brunch and coffee at home with my hubby, then a beach trip, BBQ supper and fro-yo!
That little downtown area looks so cute, I love it!

One of the things I miss about North America since moving to Australia is the OUTLETS!!! Oh man, I will never take cheap clothes shopping for granted again!

I’ve never had a caramel apple! I’m not a big fan of caramel but I love peanut butter and apples!

My perfect day… hmm, a long walk in cold but clear fall weather, a Broadway show, and a veggie hot dog from a street vendor to finish the night.

Sounds like an awesome anniversary! You two look great for just having run 13.1 miles! I slept for 2hours before I could function yesterday and I ran 20+mins slower than you!

I would love to go to any city out past Ohio. I have hit every state just driving to Florida from NY. I also have gone North to Vermont. So pick a city out west and I am sold!

I have only had plain caramel apples….no topping but caramel I think I am missing out!

Perfect day…a run that was fun, time with family, and greasy pizza and cheese cake:)

My favorite cities are either Asheville or Boulder. Of these two, Asheville (at least Asheville of 8 years ago) was incredibly unique.

The Park City Half was my very first half marathon ever! It holds a special place in my heart. Is it crazy that I am getting all nostalgic (and maybe teary) thinking about a race? … :)

So glad that you had a great anniversary! It makes me happy to see the Deer Creek & Timp pic… I love it here so much! Have you run the Deer Creek trail? It starts at Soldier Hollow & goes about 7 1/2 miles along the reservoir. When I would look at it from the hwy I never thought it looked that great until I actually ran it… I LOVE it! It’s gorgeous to run right by the water. (No shade, though, so it’s best to go early).

Great pictures and finds! Congrats on the race. I love that necklace, perfect pairing.

Jason’s deli is my favorite too…I love the mini muffins and the free soft serve. They know the way to my heart.

My husband is obsessed with the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Carmel Apples…He gets them and sneaks them into the movies for a snack. He gets the smores flavor.

Reply

Wow what a beautiful place! And I have to say that apple looks amazing and I love how they cut it for you! Makes it so much easier.

What a great anniversary day with just the two of you. My perfect day would be something similar: good food, good company, and relaxation.

Hmmm that’s a tough one! I think the city I most want to visit right now is Venice, Italy… and I’ll be there in 5 DAYS!!! So excited!! Hmm, I wonder how they do road races in Venice. Also known as swim meets?!

Best caramel apple topping is Skor bar, hands down. Sorry, you’re wrong. I’m SO obsessed with Skor bars.. haha Ryan, being the awesome BF that he is, bought a 4-pack of Skor bars yesterday and being the awesome GF that I am, I just finished half of the second last one. And by “half”, I mean I saved him a bite. I think I might need some tips on how to make your significant other still like you even though you eat all his chocolate bars :-P

Reply

Update… I just finished his “half”. He should have known better than to go running and leave me alone in the house unsupervised with the chocolate bars!

Reply

sounds like the perfect anniversary! I love the onesie :) so cute.
I never knew caramel apples could have toppings besides caramel… I need to find where I can try this.

Park city looks perfect- food, shopping and incredible views.

I love London, but I haven’t been to Paris since I was little, so maybe there. It’s a toss-up.
The picture of both of you at the table is great, your eyes seriously pop. Amazing picture, even if the stupid waiter didn’t capture your food as well (and yeah! Normal people totally do that. Or maybe I’m not normal people)

Reply

ps
teach me how to be as productive as you! hehe

Wow, what an awesome day!! We had a super fun dinner last night, too. We went to Richard Blais’s (from Top Chef) burger restaurant in Atlanta, called Flip Burger. Not only was dinner delicious, but I had a nutella and burned marshmallow milkshake. Yummmmmmmmm!

Reply

A perfect day for me must involve a sunny summer day at a beach somewhere. I love the water. It is sooo peaceful. Maybe even a picnic or bbq involved.

My favorite apple topping ? Caramel and chopped peanuts is #1 and Cinnamon Apple with white chocolate is a close 2nd.

Reply

I had a caramel apple at the Grove’s farmer’s market with Reese’s pieces all over it. OMG, so good!

Oooh, I love this question! Perfect day = husband waking me up at 11 with my Starbucks and a GIANT fruit salad, then a day by the pool reading magazines/books, followed by getting dressed up and going out to a fancy dinner. I am now going to show this post to my husband and “demand” it for my upcoming 30th birthday.
HAPPY BELATED ANNIVERSARY!!! <3

Among the other actors who have played scribes in movies include.
I am a huge Burton fan (check out my ‘Top 5 Tim Burton Movies’ here at Street Articles) and when you think of his movies, and think of the great characters he has created then you
can get the picture of the amount of excellent costume
ideas you can get for you or your child, so here I have compiled a list
of the best available online for you to enjoy
and hopefully be inspired. These websites do not charge you

In most of the cases, you can watch movies online for free
of cost because the ads shown before the start of the film and on site
actually pay for movies. The cast of the film incorporates Diesel,
Walker, Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris and Tyrese Gibson. Visual
impacts were dazzling, the story was cleared of religious BS however much as could
be expected.

Regardless of the length of the film, there is nothing that can be removed in light of the fact that each scene is significant to the story.
Watching adult TV from the internet on your PC removes the headache of finding some private time to watch
x rated movies. This was proven by the movie wining the
audience award at the Los Angeles film festival.
