Broken Bones and an Overflowing Plate.

Um, Billy.  I know you are busy and all but if you wouldn’t mind running outside to greet me with a handful of candy everytime I see you, I would greatly appreciate it.

Doesn’t it get any more welcoming than sugar and the biggest smile in the world?

IMG 9181

Once again Billy chose our future (aka LSAT prep class) over doing cool things like trecking through the orchard to a block party and seeing how many lbs of cotton candy one can eat in a thirty minute time span (just in case you are wondering, I set a new record of 6 sticks full).

IMG 9184

It isn’t bad to have dessert twice in one night as long as you eat dinner any between.  Individualized pie’s cuteness is right up there with dogs dressed up in human clothes, baby otters and panda bears.

IMG 9189

And for dinner….hamburger, fresh fruit, side salady things and salad.  Good thing my food was literally overflowing off of my plate.

IMG 9191

Cotton candy really does fill in the cracks.

I was able to meet a blog reader too….HEY MADI!!!  She only has 3 weeks left until she gets her boot off….she broke her foot and is itching to get back to playing tennis and running!!

IMG 9193

I was reunited with my long lost best friend.  I worked for this woman for a long time…..aka work=hang out all day together, doing errands, going to lunch at cool Thai restaurants and hanging out with her coolest kids…….Hey, can I come back and ‘work’ even if your kids are all grown up now?

IMG 9199

And the moment the kiddos have all been waiting for weeks for……..

IMG 9198

Glow stick bike parade 2011.

IMG 9203

I stayed up way past my bedtime but how could I leave the bright lights, giggling children (okay, giggling Janae due to overdosing on glucose) and tables of dessert before the party ended?

Have you ever broken any bones? How?

-I broke my arm when I was racing my brother that was driving a car while I was on rollerblades.  I think you know how I get a little competitive and I really thought I could win….that is until I heard a loud crack, snapple and pop of my right arm.

What do you think the CUTEST baby animals are?

-Baby otters.

Favorite type of burger?  Black bean, veggie, beef, chicken, portobello mushroom, salmon, am I missing anything?

-I love terryaki chicken burgers with a big ol’ ring of pineapple on there!

Not actually, unless you count a confirmed stress fracture in one leg and a possible stress fracture in the other. Both a result of trying to increase my pace too quickly.
UM YES, you forgot one. TURKEY burger. With guacamole!
Cutest baby animal: they are all cute. Kittens, Panda’s, cheetah’s. Anything you can watch on a zoo webcam really.

I have a thing for baby monkeys , especially the baby orangutan. Google it for sure, it seriously makes me giggle. I love any type of burger really! I love a good veggie or turkey one though :)

Have you ever broken any bones? How? My sophomore year of highschool, I was taking a dance/cheer class at a training gym and I was practicing my toe-touch jumps and somehow landed with my toes curled… broke a bone in my mid foot. I can’t point that foot- it looks creepy. AND my freshmen year of college, I went to a party and stepped off the porch (and didn’t realize there was a step) and rolled my ankle- broken ankle. Well, it was the tip of my fibula and I think some ankle bone underneath it… it sucked. I was super embarrassed when it happened. trying to impress a cute boy and all that. :/

What do you think the CUTEST baby animals are? Golden Retriever puppies… or Lab puppies. Or… really, any puppies. :)

Favorite type of burger? Um… beef? My friend, Jess, makes a super yummy turkey burger. I’ve tried to make them… but I suck at it. So… We just go to her house and request that for dinner. :)

I broke my wrist rollerblading (I wanted to go with my brother’s friends, and I took his rollerblades, which were, ohhhh, about eight sizes too big ha), and I broke my pinky playing basketball. My pinky finger looked like the Michelin Man!

I love burgers! Black bean, veggie, turkey, beef, chicken, etc. My favorites are the ones my husband makes with fresh ground beef, sausage, bacon, jalapenos, onion, and pineapple (all IN the burger mix). SO SO SO good!

I broke my arm at my friend’s brother’s track meet. There was a race for all the little kids and you could win cool Nike stuff. I went to the front of the line and when the gun went off I fell and was basically trampled! My arm was broken in three places!
I think puppies are pretty darn cute and baby giraffes. :-)
My burger choice depends on my mood, today I would have to pick a turkey burger.

Reply

Awww that looks like such a fun time!!!

I broke my collar bone when I was 5…me and my brother were taking turns pushing each other down the driveway on a kiddie bike (but holding on while pushing the other so that the person riding didnt fall and hurt themselves) and I wanted to take an extra turn so he let go of me and I fell hard and broke it…lol, but I just remember thinking it didnt hurt much, it just felt like my arm was hanging there.

cutest baby animals…thats SO hard! how about a baby koala? :)

ahhh favorite type of burger, another hard one. its a tie between homemade turkey burgers and black bean burgers bc they are both MUY deliciouso.

Woah! Glow stick bike parade=coolest parade on two wheels ever! I’m so going to put glow sticks in my bike… That might actually get me to rude it, instead of just thinking about riding it.
I broke my wrist once and thought I broke my ankle another time… I went to the er, but it turned out to be just a contusion (a fancy name for a bruise). Sadly, over a year later I’m still paying off that dr’s bill. :( All for a bruise.

Reply

My senior year of high school I broke one of my metatarsal bones in my foot..not fun at all. I did get a decent amount of attention from wearing the boot for 8 weeks (heyyyy elevator pass) and earned the name Big Foot. Classy, right?

My favorite kind of burger is definitely a salmon burger or ahi tuna burger. Yummmy.

Reply

I love the glow stick bike parade! That’s so cool!

The cutest baby animals are kittens. I like dogs better, but there’s nothing like a tiny, warm, fuzzy, kitten with big wondering eyes. They make me squel like a 4 year old.

Reply

Kittens are adorable!! I left a comment on your blog but it didn’t show up:( check your spam!! LOVE YOUR NEW HAIR!!

Baby elephants! We saw them up close and in the wild on safari in Africa last year and they are the CUTEST little things in the whole world…so adorable! <3 Although, to be fair…most baby animals are cute as can be! :-D xyx

GLow stick parade = coolest thing ever! How could you forget to invite me? ha ha but seriously I freaking love that!

You are gorgeous Janae! Seriously you look so pretty in all of the pictures.

Reply

I broke my ankle when I was young (I think like 5 or 6). My babysitter gave me a pump on her bike and I wasn’t wearing shoes and my ankle got stuck in the spokes of the bike and CRACK! Yup, broke my ankle. Note to any babysitters out there, don’t give a 5 year old a pump on the back of your bike.

I pretty much think any baby animal is adorable.

Not sure if you have seen but Aspaeris Pivot Shorts posted one of the pictures of you modeling their shorts on their Facebook page!

Reply

OUCH….that broken ankle story of yours sounds awful!! Ha…I will have to check that out, thanks Patty!

Reply

I have broken a toe once!! it hurt SO bad.

I love black bean chipotle burgers. YUMMM!

Reply

I would’ve totally stayed for the light show too!
I broke my collar bone when I was just two years old! Some older boy thought it would be a great idea to put me and my friend in a wagon and run down the driveway/street with us and I guess we hit a crack and out I went flying. I remember being in the wagon but that’s it luckily.

I have a serious obsession with puppies so I’d say them! Kittens are cute too but not as cute when they’re older.

I like turkey burgers! Salmon too.

Reply

Collar bone at two years old…OUCH!!! Girl, that is scary!!

Reply

What a fun night!!! I broke my arm when I was 12 and thought the cast was SUPER cool. I love how casts are totally a fashion statement to a fifth grader.

Reply

I can’t get over how cute your nieces and nephews are!

I’m a huge klutz and therefore SHOCKED that I have never broken a bone. :)

I love all baby animals, but little gorillas are so so cute.

I’m a traditionalist and love a good beef burger, especially topped with either bleu cheese or avocado. Yum! I wouldn’t turn down the other options either though! I only recently discovered how delicious portabellas are on the grill…yum. Maybe I’ll bring those to a Labor Day bbq this weekend. Thanks for the idea! ;)

Reply

Um, can we go get burgers together? One with bleu cheese and one with avocado and we can split them in half and share:) Thanks for the compliment about my nieces and nephew!

Reply

YES. Next time I’m in UT or you’re in TX, it’s a date. ;)

Reply

Looks like fun! Yes I have broken my ankle completely in half about 11 years ago still have a little arthritis in it and when its icy/snowy around these parts i am deathly afraid of slipping and falling injuring myself again. I gained a ton of weight when i was incapacitated and it took like 6 months for it to heal.

Reply

oh i didnt read the other questions

Cutest animal- bunnies i guess we are not pet people we have enough kids to make up for that

Burger- Angus beef with cheddar cheese yum !

Reply

Let’s see, I have broken my left wrist twice, right hand once, hairline jaw fracture, two toes, and two fingers. I also severed my left ulnar nerve.
Though I have never seen one and do not entirely believe they exist, I think a baby platypus would be awesomely cute.
I REALLY like salmon burgers with mustard dill sauce or a good old shake shack burger.

Reply

I MISS YOU THAT’S ALL.

Reply

I can’t get over how much your niece is your twin!!!

Reply

Turkey burger, baby! Plus, I discovered the buffalo burger at Fuddrucker’s (sp?). It’ so, so good! Much tastier than beef, I think. Added benefits are lower calories and higher iron, and iron is something this running girl can’t get enough of :)

Oh, block parties are the coolest! I love the mini pies, especially because I can never cut a normal sized pie very well. It always ends up running or looking funny. And that glow stick bike parade? So. Jealous.

I broke my wrist at soccer practice in 7th grade, but that’s why I started running, (cast and all). I will always be grateful, even though it was no fun at the time!

Reply

Your nieces are so cute! Looks like a fun night. And, I have to agree with you..mini pies are seriously one of the cutest desserts ever. But, I feel that way about most bite-sized foods. :)

Reply

AMAZING! I can’t believe Billy would miss a night like that. Future schmuture!

Cutest baby animals are obviously kittens. My heart melts when I see any kittens!

Favorite burger = anything! It’s all about the toppings anyway. The more toppings, the better!
:)

Reply

What a fun night!! I would have stayed up past my bedtime too :) I have never had any broken bones…and I hope to keep it that way!

Favorite burger is the black bean burger at Chili’s – I’m sure it’s full of fakeness, but I love the big chunks of beans!

Reply

Janae!!!!!!! Your hair is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!1

I love beef Teriyaki burgers with a pineapple.

I have never broken anything, so I guess I am really really grateful for that!

No broken bones. Love love puppies. Love all baby animals but nothin’ beats a good ol’ puppy in my book!

I like all burgers but sometimes nothing tastes as good as a good old fashioned top-of-the line cheeseburger ;-)

Reply

mnn.. I love black bean burgers with cheddar cheese and avocado smushed on top!!

Reply

I love just a regular burger with pickles and ketchup. Yum!! :)

And I’ve never broken any bones … probably because I was a total girly-girl and never did any activities that would cause broken bones! ;)

Reply

*knock on wood* Thankfully no broken bones for me, just a sprained ankle.

I cannot get over a fluffy baby, either a dog or a cat. So cute you just want to squeeze them and call them George. :-P

I love tropical style burgers. A beef burger with teriyaki and a pineapple is the best!

Reply

-Not really a daredevil but i broke my arm playing field hockey and fractured my skull doing……CHORES! Yeah running with a bucket on brick stairs is probably not the safest thing to do.
– Baby Kangaroos!
– Turkey burger with hot sauce all over YUM:D

Reply

My son looked at the picture of the plate and said, “Wow, she really IS a Hungry Runner Girl”.
That looks like an awesome block party.
Favorite type of burger – In N Out animal style minus tomato.

Reply

The glow stick parade is such a cute idea! If only it was dark during the daytime and I could do it with my students :P

My most memorable break [I’ve broken a couple of different things/ different times and had stitches] was when I broke my wrist in kindergarten- I ran down the wet hill, immediately after our teacher told us not to, becuase it was recess… I got picked up in the front of the school in an ambulance and came back the next day with a hot pink cast. Let me tell you, that’s big stuff in kindergarten :P

Reply

First, I think that your oldest niece looks like she could be your child for reals! Also, I’ve never broken a bone in my 20 years (ok like 19.75, but who’s counting?) And, for the most important news, I get to go to Disney World for Halloween this year! WOOHOO! So blessed :) have an AMAZING day!
