THE WHOLE FAM TOGETHER

We sure had a party last night!! All of my siblings are in town for my Aunt’s wedding and what better way to celebrate the day before a wedding than going to a buffet and playing video games all night long.

Well, hello salad.  Remember my theory on goldfish?  They belong on salads. I would chose goldfish over croutons on my salad any day except Thursdays.  PS this was the first time I have had spinach in a while….I used to go through a costco bag all by myself in a week….I got a little burnt out on it!

Next on the list was a baked potato.  Technically the buffet was a pizza/pasta one but they randomly had a baked potato bar too……  you know how I feel about baked potatoes.  I have never passed one by and I may start adding chives to everything I eat in the near future.

IMG 8743

The starches of the potato made the best fuel ever for an intense skeeball competition, my mom cremed me, just like she beat me in an arm wrestle in 3 seconds flat, seriously.

The clouds parted and an all you can eat ice cream machine came from the heavens.  I am obviously a very good example to my nieces and nephew when we are restaurants.  4 hours later and I still have a brain freeze.  No matter who dares you to see how much ice cream you can eat in 10 minutes, don’t try it.  I lost a lot of brains cells.

Goodbye for now!

Hopefully, as you are reading this I am (and all parts of my body) are happily riding along 56 miles:) Wish my fanny pack wearing BIL good luck on his first ever half-ironman!!!!

I always burn out on cottage cheese, I go through phases like every 2 months than I’m over it.

Swimming and RUNNING 15 MINUTES LATER!!! Not sure about Sunday yet!

I think the farthest lives in North Carolina, but I’m not sure if that’s the farthest or not.

I’m Subway-ed out right now.

i am burnt out on coffee and salad right now (more because of a recent flu bout, but anyway i can’t face either right now!).

I need an ice cream machine in my house!
Good luck on your incredible bike ride today, and to your BIL on his half-Ironman (so awesome!)
My family is super far away. Parents in Hong Kong, some siblings there, some in Florida, some in Arizona, grandparents in England and Germany and Hawaii. Family reunions are HARD to organize. That’s why I’m always so jealous to see your family get togethers so often. It looks amazing. Be thankful!

GOOD LUCK on your ride today!! Thinking of you RIGHT now :D

I got burnt out on spinach too but as of today I’m bringing it back :) green smoothies!

Good luck on your bike ride! When it gets tough and you’re going up a hill… Just imagine that on the top of the hill there is an all you can eat fro-yo place ;)

I’m burned out on cereal. I know, can you believe it?
My mom and dad are in Cali and I’m in NY, so they’re the furthest away. Wah.

Reply

Good luck on the bike ride! My plans are for a hilly 3 mile run today (if the hurricane holds off) and just lifting tomorrow in the confines of my house since I’m pretty sure we’ll be on hurricane lockdown. Ugh!

I don’t get burnt out on foods….it’s a gift.

GOOOOOD LUCK to your BIL and to you – cheering someone along during an Ironman is serious business!

Have an AWESOME ride!
I am not sure I get burnt out on food. Cream of Wheat maybe, but I had it yesterday.
Weekend workout: It is a cutback week for me so only 3 miles today and rest day tomorrow.
I am in NC and my sister and parents all live in AZ. So they are the farthest. Rest of the extended family is still in New England.
Have a great weekend!

Goldfish on salad? Awesome! When I got my wisdom teeth out I was a food wimp for a week and only ate yogurt and ice cream… there’s no way I could ever burn out on ice cream, but the yogurt got old.

Weekend workout: long run this morning (10 miles) and rest day tomorrow.

My sister and her hub just moved to the Caribbean this week! Waaa!!! I am seriously missing her.

PS GOOD LUCK!!! You’ll be awesome! …And might have to ice your butt the rest of the day.

The last food I got burnt out on was cottage cheese. I loved it, ate it a ton, and I haven’t eaten it for a while because I ate it so much!
Workout schedule for the weekend, saturday is my rest day, and sunday I’m planning on running 9 miles :D

Good luck on your bike ride!!!

My sister lives in Atlanta (8 hours ) and that makes me sad because she’s my only sister :(
Then I have brothers in KY (12 hours), PA (um, plane ride), and boot camp (no visitors) which stinks, too, but it’s not as bad because I have 7 brothers so I have four spares who live nearby.

Looks like a fun-filled evening!

Last food to get burned out on… hmm. Probably apples. I ate them ALL the time throughout the winter since hardly any other fruit was in season besides bananas. I think I’ll be ready for them again come fall since I’ve been buying tons of other fruit this summer.

Workout weekend schedule: this morning went on a 4 mile run and tomorrow is my rest day.

Pretty much all of my family is in the good ol’ AZ. I miss them!

Reply

Good luck to your BIL! ;) Your nephews and nieces are so cute! I can’t wait to see the dress you picked out for the wedding. ;)

Hmm, you are going to say we can’t be friends anymore, but I just got burnt out on salads. ;) Weekend workout is Yoga Meltdown and some cardio on the treadmill.

Farthest family is my brother who lives in Sacramento; we live right outside of Houston. The rest of my extended family and wonderful in-laws live here in Houston, too. ;)

Reply

Yogurt, I just can’t eat it anymore and it used to be my go to snack.
Weekend workout this weekend is an 1hr 45min run, 1hr 15min on Sat. then a 4hr ride Sunday. Good Times. My farthest family member( my awesome sister-in-law) is in South Dakota, I live in AZ. Boo.

That was an 1hr 15 swim. I am tried, I just finished my run and trying to find motivation via internet to get that swim over with.

I am obsessed with your BIL with the fanny pack. What does he keep in there? Is he running the triathlon with it? How did he start wearing it on the regular?

My best friend wore a fanny pack out one night in San Diego and everyone called her “fanny”. Hers was gold, and also amazing.

Since I live in Cape Town, all my family is far away. One time it took me 26 hours of flying time to get home for Christmas. Boo!!!

Reply

i hope your ride is awesome and that your BIL rocks his half-iron man!

haha your family looks like so much fun, hope the wedding is wonderful

My weekend workout schedule has been a flop..running in hurricane conditions? No thank you. Gym still closed? Unfortunately, yes.

I have a bike, the yearn to ride my bike, and plenty of places to ride my bike within a short car ride away. But no bike rack. *hinthintnextgiveawayandpickmehinthint*

I eat the same foods daily and haven’t burned out yet (oatmeal, egg whites, spinach, broccoli, beans)—it’s been years of this… I’m boring!! . Today was an 8 mile run and then taught bootcamp, abs, body pump, and booty blast! Love Saturday workouts!! Half my fam is on the west coast and half is in south FL. I’m stuck in the south away from everyone for now….

Family get-togethers are SO FUN! Looks like y’all had a blast! My weekend workout: spin & Zumba earlier this morning & a 9 mile long run tomorrow. Most of my family lives pretty close together here in Texas, but my Aunt & Uncle live in Colorado, so they’re the farthest away. Enjoy your bike ride & have a great weekend!

Reply

Looks like you had a blast with your family. I love family time, especially when everyone can be together. Last food I got burnt out on was yogurt, but not fro yo. I used to eat it everyday as a snack. I still love it, but I need to rotate something else in for awhile. My weekend workout consists of lots of walking. It’s not what I want to do, but what my body will allow right now. We used to be the farthest family members for the 3 years that we lived in California. All of our family lives in Texas. Now that we are in Texas again, I have aunt & uncle that lives in Colorado.

I have totally burnt out on oatmeal! I want to gag thinking about eating it! Hopefully that will change in the winter!

Reply

Having the whole family together is the best! Looks like such a fun night. I got totally burnt out on carrots, and can’t have them now. I can also go through the Costco bag of spinach all by myself before it goes bad. 56 miles wow! I’m impressed! You go girl! Irene canceled my ten mile race for tomorrow so I had to run it in my neighborhood yesterday morning, then I got in 14 miles this morning before the rain started! The rest of my weekend will be probably spent in the dark eating the ice cream before it melts!

Reply

I really don’t like croutons on my salad, but Goldfish, HECK YEAH! Unfortunately, that’s a rare occurrence and usually is only when I have a salad at home- totes cool you found them at a restaurant!

Last food I got burnt out on: steamed veggies… solution: broiled veggies haha :P

Good luck on your bike ride- fun!

For food I think I am all wrapped out..quesadillas, peanut butter, veggie wraps, egg wraps in the morning..blahhh.and english muffins are getting old..

Maybe if you’re lucky your BIL will let you store a few pounds of skittles in there..just tell him it’ll build more muscle with the extra weight..do you guys actually keep at the same pace the whole time… Or get competitive?

Reply

Whooo! You and your BIL are going to rock that ride :) Fam bam time is the best, looks super fun. And I didn’t know it was possible but I got burnt out on oatmeal too… maybe it will make a come back once the weather gets cooler tho.

My cousins in NYC are the farthest away!

I ran 23 miles today and was SOOOOOOO TEMPTED to finish at 26.2, but I held myself back like a good girl. It felt amazing! Best run yet, by far. I can’t wait to run the marathon in 3 weeks. It’s going to be a party.

tomorrow is going to be a day of rest… and foam rolling. I’m looking forward to it.

I got burnt out on spinach and strawberries- I can’t believe I’m even typing that, but it’s true!!!

I adore your niece’s curly hair. She’s cute as a button.

Best of luck hun on your very first iron-man competition!! I know you are going to kick some serious bootay! Can’t wait to hear all about it :)

The last food I got burned out on was cereal. I would eat it every day for breakfast and then for a snack and now it doesn’t even sound good to me. I hate when that happens!
