Purse full of PB and Life Lessons

My MIL has taught me many very valuable life lessons and the one below may be the most important. French toast are best when served with powdered sugar, fresh lemon juice and syrup (I went one step further and threw on berries).

These french toast were one of those meals that you get depressed when you finish…..

But then you get overly excited when you remember there is another one waiting for you in the oven…..

Today’s afternoon snack (the thing that I will get me up for when I wake up hungry during my nap) will be glorious deviled eggs.

I need at least one person to step forward and admit that they too have stashed peanut butter in their purse, just in case they suddenly get hungry and need a quick swipe of heaven.

Is there a food that you normally hate but when it is paired with something else you love it?

-Mayo and Deviled eggs…….whoppers (hate) and whopper ice cream (love).

Any lick-your-plate worth meals for you lately?

-Definitely licked my syruppy french toast plate.

What are the top five things that you MUST have any your purse (or with you at all times)?  (not boring stuff like a drivers license or money).

-Lip gloss

-Lotion (a big bottle because I use it at least 17 times throughout the day).

-SnackS (emphasis on the S)

-Water

-Sunglasses…..hence my sunglass tan line on my face, I cannot be outside without sunglasses on.

I am known for keeping a jar of peanut butter in my purse. I thought I was the only one that did that :) Great to know that there is someone else who does it also!

loooove powdered sugar on french toast. it is most DEFINITELY a must.
and hate mayo. in anything. i wont eat it if i think there is a hint of mayo in it.

One thing I need to have stashed in my purse is a camera. If there is a photo op and I am cameraless I am not a happy camper!!

Reply

Hmmmmmmmmmm maybe you should try chocolate mayonnaise cake. You might like that, too. Especially with ice cream.

Reply

haha I had French toast this morning too :) totally licked my plate clean!

Reply

I also hate mayo. However, I can eat it in things like egg salad, tuna salad and deviled eggs. Put it on a sandwich and I gag. So weird!

Reply

I spent about 45 minutes digging through my purse looking for a hair clip to keep my bangs out of my bacon at breakfast, so that. hair clips.

OMG i absolutely cannot stand mayo. Can’t even get near the smell of the stuff. Yick. One think i HAVE to have in my purse is Aquaphor. It’s like chapstick on crack. I seriously think my lips have stopped producing their own moisture. I even have to put some on before bed. And when i wake up in the middle of the night to pee (at least 2x, it’s how i roll). I’m addicted. I own it.

Reply

I keep peanut butter in my gym bag too….You never know!

Reply

I’m the exact same with mayo. Hate it on sandwiches but like it in a few other things like tuna salad (when I make it, NOT store bought, waaaay too much in their version!)

Reply

ahh i can’t stand mayo either. and miracle whip is even worse!

Reply

Shrimp mango quesadillas are my latest obsession. Yum.

a. You never shared what you got from lululemon! I am dying to know! I love their cool racer back tanks – they should definitely be your next purchase! I just ordered the wunder under crops, the boogie shorts, another crb tank and the scuba hoodie. My obsession just started with them but it is full blown now!
b. I have to always have chapstick – burt’s bee’s in my purse at all times. I have 3 in the purse and at least 2 at work and one beside the bed. You never know when you will wake up with a chapstick emergency in the middle of the night!
c. Lick worthy meal today was definitely fish tacos. I was starving and they totally hit the spot!

Reply

Nope – pretty much hate mayo — all the time!!

Reply

I am the very same way with mayo. Its the most vile thing on earth unless it’s in deviled eggs or potato salad!

So what does the lemon juice do for the french toast? I know I am a dummy! LOL!

Reply

I like mayo but hate deviled eggs!

Hmmm….top 5 things on me at all times:
-water
-cell phone
-ipod (you never know when you’re going to want to block someone out :P)
-my SANITY lol
-hmm…usually I try to avoid carrying a purse, so this is kind of hard to answer.

Lick worth meals? My mom made this delicious fruit salsa last week- Oh My Gawd. It had a grilled red pepper and pinapple in it, with red onion, jalepeno, mango, and a little bit of cilantro. DELISH! I took a spoon and ate it straight from the bowl it was so good. haha

Oh-by the way, I just started my own blog! Hope you check it out:

It’s so funny that you mentioned having peanut butter in your purse because just today I had three peanut butter packs in my purse and found myself snacking on them, hahahha.

Reply

I’m right there with you with the mayo, i’m not a fan. But for some reason in different pasta/potato salads..it doesn’t bother me. Kind of funny how that works. :)

Reply

I used to like mayo, then I grew up. However, like you, they are a must in deviled eggs. FYI. When I make my deviled eggs, I throw the cooked yolk, mayo and the other stuff you use (spices, etc) in a large zip loc bag. Mix it all up by squishing it. Then I snip the bottom corner of the bag and squeeze the yolk mixture onto the egg. It’s pretty quick and not that messy!

Today I made some coconut banana pancakes that were extremely delicious and I was sad when there wasn’t anymore left.

In my purse:

1. Hand sanitizer
2. Water
3. Lip gloss and/or chap-stick
4. Snacks as well
5. cell phone (is that too boring?)

Have a great evening!

I hate mayo too… but I like some things that are made with mayo, like ranch or honey mustard (I know not all honey mustard is made with mayo, but it sometimes is!).

My lunch today was totally “lick your plate” worthy. Lasagna and salad made by my SIL, and then a chocolate cake made by yours truly. I have pics on my blog… it was seriously one of the best cakes I’ve ever had in my life!! Yum!

I mostly carry purse to tote around junk I don’t need…good reason, right? But one thing I never thought to tote around is a jar of peanut butter! Definitely not junk! However, I fear 1 swipe would turn into 2 which would turn into a half empty jar. Womp womp…

Your french toast looks like funnel cake…and dessert for breakfast is ALWAYS a good thing! I think if God were a woman, the day would start off with dessert first!

Ok, you’re going to love this! I was at a restaurant in Beaver Creek after we did the Tough Mudder, and they had Cap’n Crunch French Toast! They crumbled the cereal and coated the bread with before making it french toast….it was soooooooooooooo delicious!!!!

Reply

Okay, that sounds like the best thing in the whole wide world. I NEED to try that at home!!!

I CRAVE milk and it would be one of the top 5 things in my purse if it did not need refrigeration, but don’t really like yogurt.

Diapers, wipes, play dough (for me and the kids!), my IPhone!, dental floss- I always get stuff stuck in my teeth!!

Reply

I keep a jar of PB in my desk. Does that count? It’s so versatile, you can eat it on it’s own or add it to just about anything.

Reply

I think I may be the only girl I know who:
A) Rarely carries a purse
B) Keeps less than 5 things in it

I carry a clutch if I need to bring something with me and it contains:
Burts Bees Lip gloss
Credit Cards
Cash

the end!

But now that my eyes are opened to the possibility of secretly carrying PB around with me….I may need to revisit the idea of a purse!

Strawberry galette with ice cream made last night! So delicious :)
5 things in my purse all the time:
1. My camera

Are you by chance wearing your Lululemon purchase in the first picture on this post?? I don’t recall you sharing your purchase with us.

I had sugar-free cheesecake froyo today with mini reeses pieces – I definitely licked the bowl clean. I also had amazing BLT’s for dinner with fresh corn on the cob. YUM!

In my purse I always have: lipgloss, gum/breath drops, SNACKS, nose spray (I am a recovering Afrin addict, I’m going on 4 days without it), iPod touch.

I always have a snack stashed away somewhere near me (gym bag, purse, desk, night stand lol, etc)!

I know you love all things Yogurtland so I immediately thought of you today when I was there. Apparently Hello Kitty and Yogurtland are doing some kind of collaboration? So their yogurt cups and spoons are Hello Kitty themed!! So cute. I posted pics on my blog or email me and I’ll send you the pics!! :)
Who would have thought it would be such a good blend??

I love PB, but I actually am not really a PB&Jelly kind of person – weird, right?

Top 5 purse items:
– iPhone 4G (it’s almost our one year anniversary, I’m still addicted)
– Lipgloss/balm
– Little notebook and pen (because I prefer to scrawl notes out rather than use my phone… although I adore my phone…)
– A bar or two (in case I get hungry!)
– Knitting, a small project like socks or a baby sweater (because I’m also addicted to my knitting and never know when you’ll be stuck somewhere with time to kill!)

My boyfriend definitely carries peanut butter around with him all the time (from his kitchen, into his messenger bag, and in his desk drawer at work). It’s how I knew he was a keeper :P

Reply

That picture of the pb in your purse cracks me up. Mike already complains I carry way too much in my purse. I think if I had a jar of PB in there he’d try to have me committed.

Reply

I too hate mayo, that’s why I make my deviled eggs with sour cream and yellow mustard. I can’t tell you how many sandwiches I have sent back at restaurants because they put mayo on them. Blech.

Reply

I hate mayo too!! But I can handle a little in aioli – Tomatoes are one food I just can’t seem to get in plain – they need to be in the form of ketchup (LOVE), salsa, caprese salad, tabouli….you get the idea!

Reply

The current purse is too small for an entire jar of P.B., but with my luck if it did fit and I did put one in there, everything world eventually be covered in peanut butter. My “must have” is Spenda. Every once in a while I find those little white crystals spread amongst my belongings, but they clean easier than P.B.

Reply

Im the same way with mayo. I despise it.. but i seem to forget that fact when it comes to potato salads and deviled eggs…

Reply

chapstick, camera, random GU/GU Chomps packets, and tic tacs can always be found in my purse!

I hate whoppers, too- but I’ve never tried the whopper ice cream… maybe it’s time :).
I really, really want me some deviled eggs now…

Thanks for your post on the vacation industry. I’d also like to include that if you’re a senior contemplating traveling, it is absolutely essential that you buy travel insurance for retirees. When traveling, senior citizens are at high risk of getting a health care emergency. Obtaining the right insurance cover package to your age group can safeguard your health and give you peace of mind.
