Forgive me for being so lame.

I am hoping that if I fill every ounce of my body with vitamins that I will be better in no time.

Just for your own knowledge, a basketball could fit into that bowl.

and of course my fruit……what?!?! There are strawberry chunks in that popsicle.

This morning I trekked on over to the gym to get my sweat on.  It is so weird that I feel so much better moving than when I am laying down due to this cold.

I completed 70 minutes on the elliptical.  I was reading the whole time so it was probably medium effort but the time FLEW BY!!  I tried running for one minute but the shin splints are still killing me so that means more time off and lots of icing and writing the alphabet with my foot while simultaneously eating the swedish fish my FIL brought home.

BILLY RAN 10 MILES!!! BOOYA!!!  I feel like a proud mom or one of those mom’s from Toddler’s and Tiara’s that lives their dreams vicariously through their child.

After lunch and a shower we went over to the running store to try and see if getting new shoes would help my shins.  I found a pair I loved, found the right size and came home and ordered them online at some runners warehouse thingee.

Shoe store=100    Online=45 (free shipping and no taxes).

SCORE.  I really get a high from saving money.

We are off to go to the library!!!

Do you ever order running gear online?  What about shopping online for other things?

-Not usually because I LOVE my running store at home (runner’s corner) but I am loving the deals you can find online!  We do most of our shopping through amazon but I can’t buy clothes online because I NEED to know what they look like on!

What is your FAVORITE distance to run for fun (not racing wise)?

-10 was my favorite because it doesn’t poop you out too much for the day but you still get that awesome runner’s high!

What did you have for lunch?

The only running stuff I’ve ordered online is my RoadID and an armband for my iPhone (I can’t live without my runkeeper). I’m a big fan of ordering dvds online and sometimes books. I like to keep things in my cart on amazon until everything goes down on price. It’s the coolest trick I ever discovered. I don’t order clothes online, unless I already know it fits, like Old Navy tanks. I also order tea online! Since I drink that stuff like crazy, I order in bulk.

Love shopping online! I almost always get my running shoes that way. Runningwarehouse is great. Onlineshoes.com is awesome too and they price match, so if you find shoes cheaper on another website, they’ll match or beat it.
I don’t shop for clothes online much because I need to try things on. It’s hard for me to find stuff that fits because I’m a shorty. :)
I have a 5 mile loop at a local park that I like, so maybe 5 miles is my fav.
Lunch was an exciting PB&J sandwich with a side of salt & vinegar chips. And a Dr. Pepper. Classy. lol
FEEL BETTER SOON!!! xo

I had a smoothie bowl with fruit, vanilla protien powder, and (best of all) peanut butter :D That didn’t fill me up long enough, even though it was FULL of protein, so I had a tuna sandwhich. YUM!

I always buy my asics on line because I know what I need and like. my favorite distance is 4 or 5 because I feel like it’s decent exercise for a day but not a time suck. And, for lunch I went old school with PBJ on wheat.

The only thing I shop online for is books at amazon because they have awesome prices for used books. :)

For lunch, I was at the “Taste of Chicago” and I had some chicken and waffles, a turkey leg, and oreo cheesecake with ice cream. ;) I took plenty of pics of that delicious meal, too… it was too good to forget!

I love shopping online because I love getting things in the mail. Even if I know they’re coming and I paid for them. My Road ID came today and it was like Christmas. Sometimes with a little googling you can find coupon codes too!

I had a potato kinish and a gallon of soft serve for lunch. :)

Does doing the elliptical for 70 mins bother your shins at all? Seems like you could use some real rest days to get better!!

my shin is still killing me too janae! As soon as I try and take a few steps running. Why do they take so longggg to get better..so annoying. I have been hiking instead! It’s becoming one of my favourites! I hope your shins get better in no time.
Another thing that might help you (I am seeing my physio on tuesday so I think she will do this for me) is deep tissue massage. I got one a couple of weeks ago and holy WOW my calves were killing while she was doing it – and I didn’t even know they were tight! getting one of those can really help aid recover of shin splints. If you don’t wanna spend money on a massage though just pressing along there with your fingers really deep or rolling a tennis ball on the muscle will help too, all around the muscle and back of the leg (you probably know this already but just in case) it works the same way as deep tissue massage and should help. Good luck!

Oh do I ever buy things online! I bought my first pair of Mizuno’s on Running Warehouse for $70 shipped, in stores $150! I have started to buy some clothes online, but make sure they have good return policies! Other favorite online shopping place – Amazon and Sephora :)
I like to run 14km, weird amount but it is perfect for me! I am going to run it tomorrow morning.
Lunch was ate on the beach so pb&j sandwiches, homemade granola bars and peaches.

Do you ever order running gear online? What about shopping online for other things?

-I buy all my workout stuff online. I have flat feet, and only have like three shoe stores in the town where I live. So that limits my options. I love Brooks shoes, because they have wonderful, supportive athletic shoes that give me the support I need. Also, I am plus size, so finding stylish, comfortable workout clothes can be a chore, so I usually shop online for Danskin products.

What did you have for lunch?

-I had a wrap with roasted red pepper hummus, laughing cow cheese, fresh green peppers and tomatoes, with a delicious cup of Chobani Strawberry Banana Greek yogurt.

def ten miles.. You still feel like you’ve worked without feeling like you’ve killed yourself!

Lunch? I don’t remember! :)

it sounds like you already know runningwarehouse.com is such a good deal for EVERYTHING running related…but when i can i try to buy little things from my local running store (the maine running company).

favorite distance? 8 or 9 miles…far enough to feel like it was a long-ish run but not so far you want to join the slow walker’s club for the rest of the day

I hope you aren’t like those moms from Toddlers and Tiaras, because Billy doesn’t need Botox.

That is one impressive salad Janae! Congrats to Billy, 10 miles is an awesome achievement. That was the distance when I thought: yes, I’m a runner now! My favorite distance now is probably 6 miles, that’s about what I can do daily without getting too tired in the week.

I always order my shoes at overstock.com because I have small feet so my size are always leftover and really really cheap!

I recently discovered the beauty of ordering running gear online. My dog decided to eat my $140 Mizunos for a gourmet snack so I went to my local store to buy another pair. They didn’t have the right size, so I checked it out on-line and got ’em for 70 bucks including shipping!! Beautiful.

I’m just picking up running so I’m only going about 3 miles now. Still, I would say anything that gets your heart pumping and includes some good views is a good run for me.

I am very interested in the way you said, I will try to make their own, what you said to me a lot. Have time to look at my store, thank you!
