Whole Wheat Pasta and Homemade White Sauce

Somehow the weather went from beautiful pool weather…….

to tornado city.   I guess this is my punishment for washing my hair.

Green striped shirts that are 2.99 at Forever 21 are cool, don’t ask questions…just take my word for it.

We went on over to the bro and sister in-laws for dinner.  They just moved into a new awesome apartment (with cable I might add….they are going to see a little too much of me) and since neither of us had any groceries we decided to combine forces for a dinner that olive garden might want to buy from us.

Whole wheat pasta with stewed tomatoes, white sauce (billy made this with flour, butter, milk and garlic powder) with some chicken we barbecued.

IMG 6707

I would like you to meet somebody, my creepy husband. No more feeling sorry for Billy because he is married to a complete weirdo……..he does his fair share of akward/strange things too.

PS I don’t know how he keeps his shirts so white with no stains.   I have never in my life been able to wear a white shirt for one full day without spilling on it. Maybe he just goes and buys a new one each time he wants to wear it and says it is the same one.

IMG 6713

Couch time and Parks and Recreation.  I hold my hand still and Billy moves his head around for it to be scratched, kind of like a cat and a scratching post.

IMG 6715

My in-laws have their priorities straight. Their new freezer has nothing but popsicles and ice.

IMG 6718

I really didn’t want a popsicle but they forced it upon me.  That is completely a fake excited face.  Cold, creamy, delicious tasting things really aren’t my style but I choked it down to be polite.

————————————————————————————————–

When was the last time you moved?  Do you move often?

-We have been in the same house the whole time we have been married (2 years) and will be moving next year for law school.   I HATE moving, it means I have to throw away a lot of my junk that holds a special place in my heart.

What is in your freezer?

-We have cheese (buy in bulk and so we freeze it), a loaf of bread, frozen fruit and Billy has costco burritos and corndogs.

What is your favorite show on TV lately?

-Glee, Make It or Break It, the Bachelorette, and Parks and Recreation.

I recently moved to Boston for graduate school. I’m from Ohio, and a total midwesterner at heart :) However, my boyfriend is moving to Florida in the fall for grad school, and if (no, when!) he decides to “put a ring on it” ;) I hope we move somewhere warm! My favorite shows right now are definitely Glee, The Bachelorette, and Bones….man I want a popsicle now

2.99 shirt? What a steal, and it’s cute too! I’m moving to my new apt in 2 weeks, so I better get packing soon. I’m excited for the new place, but I really hate packing. Freezer: frozen bananas & ice cream!

I don’t like to move unless I have to. Last time I moved was a little over 2 years ago when my husband moved from Manhattan to Brooklyn. Best move ever tho, I will say.

I am watching the Bachlorette ;)

Frozen Mango Mochi from TJ’s!

Oh and we found something yummy and thought of you! We posted on our blog, you should check it out!
Have a great weekend

I moved last August and I’ll be moving again in September. In fact, I have moved once a year (sometimes twice) since 2001 when I left for college. I’m so sick of moving!!!! I dream of the day that I can buy a house and settle down. Or even live in an apartment for more than a year’s time!

My freezer is jam packed. I keep trying to empty it out by eating some of the frozen stuff, but I keep buying more. I think next week I might force myself to live off of frozen meals (that I’ve prepared and frozen, not the prepackaged junk) to help in this process.

I moved to IA from IN 2 years ago when I got my married. Before that I moved from place to place during college and grad school. I had paired everything down by the end, no fluff, just a few boxes (ok and 2 closets of clothes). We have been talking about our next move, but no real plans.

My freezer has veggies, waffles, ice cream, meat for the hubby…. oh and sweet potato fries!!

BTW – My husband uses my hand on his head like that too!! Hilarious!

I really dislike the actual moving part, but I love going to a new place, organizing all of my stuff and redecorating. The actual packing, no bueno.

I have ice cream, vodka and frozen veggies/fruits in my freezer!!

And I’m loving So You Think You Can Dance :) But I really miss all the regularly scheduled programming like GOSSIP GIRL and How I Met Your Mother!

that pasta and chicken looks delicious. I have only moved once. In my freezer, there is…. popsicles, waffles, some gf frozen meals, salmon patties, meat, and bread. Hooray for cheap clothes!

I used to move a lot but I’ve been in the same place for about two years now. I’m hoping to move again at the end of the year! I can’t wait!

My freezer has a ton of stuff in it. Frozen fruit for smoothies, veggie burgers, vegetables, and coconut milk ice cream.

Fav shows: Real Housewives and Criminal Minds.

We’ve lived in 3 homes since we’ve been married for almost 18 years. I would be so scared to move at this point. It would take many many trucks. I’m hoping you don’t have to move!
That was really nice of you to choke down that popsicle. I bet that was hard! :)
My freezer is full. Chicken, salmon, halibut, broccoli, beans, corn, squash, peppers, spinach, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, cheese, waffles, ice cream, yeast, popsicles, whole wheat flour, and pizza. When are you coming over?!

where is billy going to law school?? i just finished doing all of the applying and stuff and am finally done, so i’m super curious. :)

I am obsessed with American Idol, but sad that it’s over :-( Gotta love 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation though

God I love Forever 21 and their prices! I hate moving too and unfortunately have done WAY too much of it in the last 5 years (3 times). Hoping for one more move in our near future and then that’s it!

frozen cheese!? I’ve never heard of such a thing! Does it still taste as delicious once thawed? I think I normally dominate my blocks of cheese way too fast to worry about freezing them.

My freezer contains the essentials: ice cream, frozen berries, more ice cream and edamame. and more ice cream.

I love biggest loser and glee :) I like when I have morningstar chic patties and so delicious coconut milk “ice cream” in my freezer but it’s usually empty!

I just moved 2 weeks ago into a new apartment but just a few streets over so it was relatively painless (although it was the day after my marathon so I take that back). I’m used to moving a lot right now because I’m in college, but I can’t wait to settle somewhere for longer than 9 months at a time!

Parks & Rec – my absolute favorite!

We just moved into our place in September. Before that, we hadn’t moved for 5 years. Moving is no fun.

Favorite T.V. show is definitely Glee. Followed by Modern Family. We don’t have cable either – no time to watch it, so we decided not to get it. Plus, we figured that we may as well get our butts outside rather than sit inside and watch T.V. It’s working…kinda. =)

I need a new favorite show to watch now that Biggest Loser is over! I watched a couple episodes of Master Chef the other night and was surprised I actually really liked it. The Big Bang Theory was on the TV during my elliptical session last night and that was also pretty funny.

My freezer is stocked with a giant bag of frozen blueberries which is disappearing too fast. I ate them at least three different times yesterday. It also has a tempting tub of mint chocolate chip bluebell ice-cream. :)

I’ve been moving so much lately! Hubs and I lived in one place when we got married, then moved almost straight away. Then moved to America, and we’re ALMOST ready to finally settle into our own finished house. Hopefully we stay there for good!
In the freezer = popsicles, ice cream sandwiches, frozen fish and chicken. Actually, kind of running low on the popsicles. Time to restock!
:)

In my freezer: Bagels ( I freeze them because they are preservative free and go bad in 18 seconds if left out), frozen veggies, a veggie lasagna, chicken breasts, turkey meatballs, hamburgers (for the bf) and ribs (also the bf) frozen raspberries for smoothies and freezies!

I LOVE your blog! You are hilarious & adorable!

We moved into our first home that we built a little over a year ago! I loved it… Moving out of used apartments to a brand new one with fresh smelling paint and carpet is awesome!
My favorite and only show I’m currently watching is the Bachelorette!
My freezer contains… Chicken, edamame, broccoli, creamies, stir fry veggie mix, sweet potato fries, peas, jam and ice cream!

I moved out with my fiance 2 years ago (he was my boyfriend at the time) and we’ve lived in our house for 2 years… we plan to eventually build our own home (he’s a carpenter!) but that won’t be for 8-10 years.. and then once we own that home I don’t want to move again until we are in a retirement home. I like living in the same place and not being a gypsy ;) haha. Before moving out with Tyler (my guy) I lived in the same home all my life and I just prefer it that way!

Your pasta/chicken looks delicious!

I just moved to La Crosse where I am now last August and will be moving back to Eau Claire in less than a month! In the past 6 years I have moved 4 times (that doesn’t include moving back home for summers during college)… needless to say I’m ready to find a place to stay in for a while :)

Reply

I have moved A LOT (I actually just wrote a post on it), but mostly from dorm to dorm or apartment to apartment in the same town.

Now, I am moving in a month from Massachusetts to Arizona for an externship for school. I’ve lived in MA most of my life, and have never lived out west, so it is exciting and nervewrecking! The actual process of moving is grueling!

Reply

Wow, that’s a really celevr way of thinking about it!

I moved last April. Unfortunately, living in a city means moving frequently. Over the past 5 years, living in both chicago and NYC, I don’t think I’ve lived in an apt longer than 2 years. I hate moving too because I am messy and it makes me sad to uncover all of the hidden messes as I move.

Freezer: Fudgsicles, frozen veggies, a cake from my brother’s engagement party (IN MARCH) that I don’t have the heart to throw away and now, a tennis ball. I am supposed to roll it on my foot to help with the pain. Quite the interesting mix in my freezer.

TV Show: The Voice! I am obsessed. You should watch it – I think you’d like it. Oh and also Bachelorette but that is a given ;-)

We’ve been in our current house for a little more than 3 years. I love my house and neighborhood but I have house ADD. Every 3-5 years I think it is time to move.
So have you decided on a law school near Dallas? I’ll help you find a new place – just sayin.
TV shows – anything HGTV. Maybe that explains my housing ADD. I also LOVE Deadliest Catch on Discovery.

Reply

Bought a house several years ago, but may be moving for a new job.
Where are you guys moving for law school?

Reply

YES to Glee and the Bachelorette!

…that picture with your tornado hair just made my day. although you kinda look like you just watched the movie from “The Ring.” eeps!

You always make food look so DARN good!!! You’ve inspired me truly…I started taking photos of my food this week;) It actually makes it taste better for some reason- haha!

Oh my gosh I feel like I’m always moving! Being in college I move every 6 months I feel like. I moved into my summer apt. last month and in another month I’ll be moving again. I can’t wait to one day be settled in my very own place.

I have moved three times so far from 3 different apartments. Craig and I are currently looking for a house so I know we will have to move again. I hate moving! The last time Craig and I moved it was not only my stuff we had to move, but his as well (when we moved in together). It was the worst experience ever! Craig promised the next time we move, we will be paying movers.
My freezer is packed full of chicken breast, shrimp, salmon, frozen protein muffins, salmon bugers, veggie stir fry bags, and frozan wraps to defrost. Craig and I actually bought a deep freezer just to fit all of our frozen food in one place. Craig buys all sorts of meat in bulk.
My fav shows are anything reality-it is my dirty little secret-Real Housewives bring it on!!

i hate moving! i’ve been at my place for 3 years and will probably be moving in the next year or so. i think i’m going to discover that i have wayyy more stuff than i ever thought. most of it is probably junk.

my freezer is full of popsicles, frozen fruit, some frozen veggies, and random frozen things i am guilted into buying when i try free samples and feel bad saying that i don’t want to buy it haha.

Reply

I LOVE park and recreation. It is just the funniest show to me. I also love The Office.

Reply

My freezer is always always full! From kashi meals, to ice cream, to vegetables, to bread, to leftover chili…you name it you can probably find it in my freezer! I’ve only moved back and forth from college to home and the last time it was a little more time consuming because I moved into an apartment. I don’t love the moving aspect but the decorating part is so fun! I haven’t been watching any tv lately:(

Reply

I moved to Boston a little over two years ago, when I got my new job. That’s my pattern – get a new job, move. So far I’ve moved from NJ to Florida, Florida to Northern Virginia, and Northern Virginia to Boston area for jobs. And happy to do it. Not so much the moving, but getting to live new places. Favorite apartment was definitely in FL. Still miss it.

I want this dinner!! It looks soo sooo good!! And mine of course is Bachelorette. Have this week’s to watch on DVR later today! :)

Reply

My freezer is STOCKED with Trader Joe’s frozen berries! I feel like i’m ALWAYS running out of them!!!

Reply

My freezer never has ice cream in it….but it does have a year supply of black bean burgers, fish, and sweet potato fries. Almost as good………………

I have to tell you, I laughed out loud about your hand on Billy’s head. I do the same thing with Logan. Except in our version, I plop his hand on my head and I move around like a cat having a seizure.

I recently (and by recently I mean February) moved to a closet size apartment with my boyfriend. We’ve just got to make it here till I graduate!!
I’m also slightly embarrassed at the lack substantial of food in my freezer. We’ve got 2 half gallon of frozen yogurt (key lime pie & chocolate cookie quarry), and some frozen broccoli and corn on the cob. My favorite shows lately are The Middle, Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and when I’m feeling sophisticated, Locked Up Abroad or Taboo.:)

We just moved to StL and we love it! Yah for new adventures!

Love popsicles!

That dinner looks delicious! I just have one question: where were the breadsticks? (It’s not Olive Garden unless there are breadsticks!)

Love Parks & Rec as well! So so glad NBC renewed it for another season!

All I’m saying is that ‘Make It or Break It” beter come back with season 3!

When I graduated college I moved and have stayed put for four (!) years. I’ll be moving in August across the country. It scares me to pack up my life after spreading it all over this house for multiple years.

My freezer is full of coconut milk ice cream, dog food (I make it in bulk), meat (buy lots when it’s on sale) fruit, and veggies. It’s amazing.

We have 4 freezers for 2 people! To be fair, 1 is in the garage and empty, just in case we need it. My husband is a gardener, hunter, fisherman, and cook, so we have homemade applesauce, strawberry, raspberry, and peach jelly, blueberries, broccoli, zucchini, cauliflower, rhubarb, peaches, strawberries, string beans, snow peas, brussel sprouts, basil, dill, stuffed cabbage, homemade waffles, frozen yogurt, bread, fish, and venison. It’s a little out of control.

I HATE MOVING. With a passion! I never did a lot of it until I was an adult. I lived in the same house my entire childhood. (My parents have lived in the same house since they built it right after they were married 34 years ago.) Then I got married and moved out. Then I got divorced and moved back in. Then a few months later I got a job out of town and moved to an apartment. I met D and moved in with him a year later. Then we got married and built a house and moved into it. I hope we’re done for a while now!!!
