Pretty funny joke Carls Jr. Make it so I can’t get into my veggies while my husband laughs at me giving myself a plastic-paper cut.
I bet I could fit a nickel into that crater of wrinkle on my forehead.
As you know from my latest training post, my bladder literally almost exploded on our way to Cali. We have to combine food/potty/gas all into one stop because we are stubborn like that and want to get to our destination ASAP. We stopped at the State Line just outside of Vegas and our choices were between Mickey D’s, Taco Bell and Carls Junior.
I refuse to eat fries and sit in the car all day long and feel the grease permeate onto my already unshowered hair and face and so I got the side salad with a teryaki turkey burger on a wheat bun (aka carmel food coloring mixed into the normal white bun dough…so healthy:) It was pretty good for fast food and of course Billy got his onion ring/beef/bacon fix all in one burger.
PS thanks for the one cucumber….I am sure that meets my vegetables for the day.
A few hours later of sleeping (drooling, gross but true), watching chopped and playing would your rather with Bill it was time to whip out dessert.
FYI J stands for Janae (and sometimes starburst Jelly beans) and it isn’t backwards but my computer always flips pictures.
Billy always drives the whole way (10 hours and yes I am a drivers ed teacher that HATES to drive) and so the driving part is when the vacation starts for me. Treats, tv, music, snoozing….sounds good to me.

And 10 hours later……..
My in-laws waiting in the front yard for us for who knows how many hours!
It is going to be a rough 7 weeks.

-I have a feeling it is going to be NOW!!
Do you ever eat at fast food restaurants? Do you try to make ‘healthier’ choices or do you just order whatever because you rarely eat there?
-I try to get some vegetables in and choose something that isn’t going to instantaneously clog up my arteries but you know I go for the fries and milkshake at 2 a.m. every now and then when I really want them!

so jealous that you get to spend 7 weeks in CALI!!! its my dreammm and in two years I plan to drive there (across the whole country because I’m from NJ) and then spend 2 weeks there doing tons of cali things, so far I’ve only ever been to SanFran! also, what a pathetic salad! There is a way to set your photo booth to automatically flip your picture the right way after it’s taken. You just go to edit and click Auto Flip New Photos. :)

I never eat fast food. The last time I ate at a fast food restaurant was last year sometime. But the next time will be In N Out in Vegas next month, and I will order whatever my mouth desires :)

7 weeks in Cali? Ahh so jealous. That is awesome. Thus far, I think undergrad has been my favorite time in my life…I miss all of my friends though! And I try not to eat fast food unless it’s necessary- I hate feeling like the grease is just going to pop up on my face in the form of a zit the next day :)

ahhhh! So i hardly ever crave fastfood…but when I do…I go all out. Last night after Ragnar I was CRAVING fries. They were delicious! haha! Have so much fun…I need to talk to Rachelle and see if she was being serious about a roadtrip because I am not sure I can handle 7 entire weeks without you!

When I’m at a restaurant I usually substitute one of the starchy sides for a veggie of some sort (veggies at restaurants often leave much to be desired) but when it comes to craving a big juicy burger, I want the real deal!

In N Out just opened in Texas and there’s one about a mile from my house. Does getting a double double animal style couny as healthy, you know because of all the clacium from the double cheese?

I’m enjoying this chapter of my life – living and working in NYC. It’s the biggest roller coaster I’ve ever experienced but I’m certainly learning a lot. I really enjoyed my previous chapter in Chicago where I had a dog and the man. It was the perfect balance of city/domestic life. BUT I’m glad I started this adventure :-) It’s been a ride and I love not knowing what’s up next!
I’m not a fan of fast food joints but if I do go, I choose healthier options like you :-) But fries are some of my fave foods. I’ll eat them anywhere.

With the whole FF thing, I can pretty much feel myself out hours in advance. Yesterday my hubs and I roadtripped I could tell it was not going to be a FF day for me. I packed a salad before we left. Funny thing is my hubs was actually kind of jealous of it even while enjoying his bacon double cheeseburger.

I WISH Mike would drive the whole way on road trips. Unfortunately, he’s only allowed to drive when it’s a long stretch of straight because he has a horrible sense of direction that even the GPS can’t cure.
I would say I’m pretty happy with my life now too :)

I don’t think I’ve ever actually stopped at a Carl’s Junior but they are everywhere on our trip from NY to NC every year. Now that I know they at least have turkey burgers I might have to hit that up.
You’re lucky with a husband who wants to drive the whole way. Our roles are completely flipped here. Mine NEVER drives. And when he does it’s like he converts to an 80 yr old man driving a buick and is the slowest driver on the planet. Pure torture.

I think my time is NOW too! Me and the boy are about to move to Connecticut from Toronto and I am so excited for our new adventure.
I get stuck having to find healthy choices at fast food restos ALL THE TIME thanks to Mr. My-Metabolism-knows-no-limits aka Mr. I-Can-Eat-25-Burgers-in-one-sitting-and-not-gain-an-inch. My favourite healthy option is the McDonald’s Asian Chicken Salad. I almost died when I saw the edamame. YUM!
