Cheap Tacos and Coconut Popsicles.

So much to catch you up on, because heaven forbid I don’t share some of my daily highlights with you.

My lunch was definitely a highlight.  I am telling you, throw every piece of produce you have into a bowl, add some protein (an egg for me), a fat (pb to dip the apples in) and a carb (fiber tortilla) and you are good to go.

IMG 6643

I don’t know what happened from the hours of 1-4. All I remember is being reminded that Bentley sucks, my garbage disposal is broken and the book I am currently reading puts me to sleep every time I open it.

I go way back with these girls……high school tennis team all-stars (at least that is what my mom said I was for some reason my coach didn’t agree).  Makena (in middle) lives in HAWAII and is town for the next month and Sarah on the right is moving to Switzerland so this was going to be our last get together for a L.O.N.G. time.

IMG 6652

If you tell my doctor I went longboarding, you will be in big trouble.

We couldn’t resist.  We got our daily ‘deals’ text for .80 taco’s at B-face’s favorite restaurant.

IMG 6656

You know you are an advanced longboarderee when you can take a picture at the same time.  I was also chewing gum= extra talented.

Does it look like I am coming to eat you?  Now you know what an opened bag of swedish fish feels like.

IMG 6657

Let’s see how many days in a row I can wear leggings.  Any one want to make a bet?

Hi, my name is Janae and I eat more than your brothers do.   4 taco’s for this seniorita, they were baby-sized though.

IMG 6661

Cilantro should be put on everything other than desserts and sweets.   I could use it as the lettuce in my salads, that is how much I love it.

We had to continue with our Mexican food night and go to the Mexican Bakery to get Billy his sweet bread.  I think sweet bread is the one sugary item on this planet (besides whoppers) that I do not like.  Have you tried it?  It tastes like dried out cake that is crunchy.

I made the smart decision for the both of us and got a coconut popsicle.  It had real pieces of coconut, does it get any better than that?

It takes a lot of hard work to make the attractive faces that I do for the blog.

IMG 6663

We ended the night watching “The Tourist” with Johnny Depp.  Pretty good if I do say myself and it re-affirmed that I need to go to Italy within the next year.  It would make a great 26 year celebration of my life trip, don’t you think Billy?

——————————————————————————————-

Favorite popsicle flavor?

-Cocunut followed closely by mango.

What was the last movie you watched? Did you like it?  Any Johnny Depp fans?

-I love Johnny….he can play such a wide variety of roles and can be extra creepy.

If you had to chose one cuisine (Chinese, Italian, Mexican, Thai etc) other than where you are from for the rest of your life…..what would it be?

ITALIAN.…carbs, cheese and sauce, don’t mind if I do.

Where is the COOLEST/FAVORITEST place that you have ever lived?

-I went to college in Hawaii for a semester…..I think I could do that again:)

Ooooh I can answer two of those at the same time Italian/Italy :D I totally had the privelage of living in Italy for TWO years! I want to go back so bad. Ever watched Under the Tuscan Sun? Everything in that movie is true all the way down to the driving :D Don’t get me started on the food

Your friend LOOKS like she’s from hawaii! How cool would it be to live there? So jealous.

My favorite cuisine has to be Mexican or Italian. I could eat it every single day!

Reply

You don’t like Whopper’s??? Janaeeee!!!

I actually love this peach popsicle in NYC that’s made from real peaches, and has the peach chunks in them. Although Coconut sounds pretty good too.

I wish I could long board! It always looked so cool, and so many kids at my college do it. But I think I’m deathly afraid of cracking my head open…

Just watched Bridesmaids and I think I was laughing the ENTIRE time. So GOOOD!

I went to Hong Kong for study abroad last semester, and I’d definitely move there for work one day :)

Reply

I would eat Mexican every day because it has cheese and it often has cilantro (which I love, too!). I might alternate it with eating fish and/or shellfish but that would probably just result in shrimp and fish tacos.

Does red count as a popsicle flavor? I tend to like any popsicle that’s red, particularly the Edy’s strawberry ones.

I am (half) Italian so I don’t get too excited about the food anymore. I love Mexican though! Burritos, tacos, fajitas, you name it.

I’ve never really lived anywhere else except for Toronto…how sad. I did visit Hawaii for 12 days last year though and I fell in love with it. I would totally live there in a second. Surfing, hiking and eating is pretty much all we did. I could get used to a life like that!

Reply

I have never tried a coconut popsicle but it sounds amazing! Mango is my fav :) Last movie I watched was Knight & Day with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, which was surprisingly good!
Mexican food all the way, but Thai is a close second for me!

Reply

i grew up in hawai’i and my grandma lived in kahuku so we visited there all the time! but seeing all your photos makes me miss summertime in utah…

I don’t know that I really have a favorite Popsicle. Hmmm but I bet coconut is way good!

Yes I saw the tourist as well and I love Johnny but I thought the movie was ok. But I really love Angelina as well. Have you seen Salt? I really like that movie.

I have visited lots of cool places but not lived in them. I guess the coolest for me is Savannah, GA where I went to school. And I guess Brooklyn is cool to but I live here now so it doesn’t seem as exciting.

Mexican hands down!

Reply

Ahh, yes. Whoppers are disgusting, and so deceiving! There’s this sweet delicious chocolatey outside, and then you crunch in, and BAM! Rotten milk flavor. Ugh.

I love the coconut and strawberry Whole Fruit Bars from Edy’s. It’s the only thing I’ll eat when I’m sick. :)

Reply

I went to college in Vienna for a semester and it was amazing. I think I’d have to learn German a little better to move there permanently though!

What book are you reading that puts you to sleep??

I’d pick mexican every time. Mostly because it’s one of the only types of food that I can make and everytime I get it right and it’s delicious!

Reply

Longboarding… I wish I was that coordinated. I can’t say I have ever had sweetbread, but I agree that whoppers are totally disgusting.

Italian food for sure. Can you say weight gain? Haha

Johnny Depp is just about amazing in everything he does.

Reply

Polish!! So under-appreciated, but have you ever had pierogi?! They will change your life, I promise.

And after Polish, a tie between American and dessert. Haha

Reply

Favorite popsicle flavor? I like the classic cherry pops that you get from the ice cream man. Yummy.

Last Movie? Center Stage! I love that movie :-) It always motivates me to go for my dreams. Cheesy, I know.

Cuisine? Mexican! I could eat tacos/burritos every day and every meal and be a happy girl.

Coolest Place I’ve Ever Lived? Mexico City for 3 months. It was amazing!

Where is the COOLEST/FAVORITEST place that you have ever lived?

-I went to college in Hawaii for a semester…..I think I could do that again:)

Reply

I would choose Mexican food. I had it last night, actually. I never get tired of it!

Reply

Those tacos look so yummy! I want to make some for dinner tonight now.

Our sweet bread here is different….doughy and topped w/ coconut and condensed milk!
Favorite popsicle flavor would either be pineapple or strawberry!!!! :D

Hahaha ‘Now you know what a bag of Swedish Fish feel like.’ – too funny :D I love your humor, it always makes my day! :) If I’m ever having a bad day, I just head to your blog & it cheers might right up! You are the most positive person. Love it!
As for Johnny Depp, I couldn’t agree more- he is an AWESOME actor because he can play such a wide range of roles, but I do not find him attractive. Everyone always tells me that they think I am the only person on the planet that doesn’t think he’s cute, but he just doesn’t do anything for me. He can definitely act though!
We just watched ‘Just Go With It’- it is HILARIOUS! I was laughing the entire movie..and they didn’t give all of the funny parts away in the previews. I think you should watch it :)

Reply

Lets see, last movie I watched was Battle Los Angeles or something like that last night. I fell asleep with about 20 minutes to go. I be sleepy. You’re right, The Tourist was pretty good. I wanna be in a movie with Johnny Depp!

I think I would have to go with Mexican food. I love Italian but I LOVE some cilantro as well! My husband is from Mexico and his mother makes some incredible food! It’s not great unless my nose is running :)

Reply

Hahaha, the tacos look good, except I hate cilantro (don’t hate me!). I’m one of those people that eat it and it tastes like soap…it’s so strange.

Best place I’ve ever lived — London, hands down. I love this city.

If I had to choose one cuisine for the rest of my life to eat — Italian, like you. Delicious, delicious carbs and cheese…and gelato!

Favorite popsicle flavor — I’m boring and love cherry. And oddly enough, I like grape, even though I recognize that it tastes like cough syrup.

Reply

You did a semester in Hawaii?! What the heck, why am I going to school right beside my house.
The last movie I watched was roommates. I got half way through…

Reply

MMM coconut and mango popsicles are my favorite too! I just found these awesome peach popsicles at Trader Joe’s and they’re also pretty amazing.

I would go with Mexican and Italian – tons of carbs + cheese = happiness!! :)

I hate whoppers too! So gross.

Reply

Totally agree about cilantro. People either love it or hate it. I’m a lover.
I lived in Malaga, Spain for a semester. I’d do that again in a heartbeat. Spanish men are hot!

Reply

Lebanese. I <3 Falafel! I enjoy North Carolina. Don't tell my fellow Texans but this state is beautiful. I can enjoy the mountains OR the ocean in just a few hours!

Reply

I absolutely LOVE the mountain backdrop in most of your outdoor pictures… so gorgeous!

And I LOVE coconut popsicles, the little pieces of coconut in them are the best! :)

Reply

i live in Mexico, and I don’t like Mexican sweet bread either! It’s exactly how you describe it. The worst is going to the bread store (panaderia) just to get regular bread for dinner, but the sweets LOOK so good. They are deceiving! I’ve finally learned my lesson, though.

Reply

Janae!

I’ve been following your blog for awhile now and I love it!! I’m trying to get into running so thanks for being an inspiration!! Those tacos look fantastic! Where did they come from??

Reply

Haha those sweedish fish better fear for their life when they see your face! I couldn’t choose between japanese (sushi) Italian or Mexican!

Reply

I lived in England for three years when I was little! It was definitely something I took for granted at the time… but I’ve been exposed to so many different cultures from living in Europe. :)

And if it didn’t matter that I’d weigh 239 pounds, I’d probably eat Italian for the rest of my life. Forever and ever, amen.

Reply

Favorite popsicle right now are these lemonade ones that I recently discovered and I love coconut ones!

I didn’t like the Tourist, I thought Angelina did a poor job on her acting in that one!

Reply

I am so jealous you have gone to school in Hawaii! I have never lived anywhere else but Nebraska, but I am going on vacation to Costa Rica in about 3 weeks, my first time out of the country ever!!
I agree with you on the Italian food, I love cheese and tomatoes, fav all time food is pizza!!

Reply

That produce plate looks amazing! I want to make one!!

We watched Case #39 last night, it was okay, a slow start and hard to hear the actors – I should have picked The Tourist like I WAS going to! It sounds like it would have been better!! :) It’s in Redbox for $1 – yippee!!

I would eat Chinese (or Mexican, really) for the rest of my life – I can’t get enough of the hot and spicy – and also cilantro! I love it too! Oh, and I love coconut too.

You’re awesome! :)

Reply

I don’t like whoppers either!!!!! They are so nasty. I’ve always wanted to try longboarding but I don’t know anyone that has one to try it out. I will come borrow yours sometime.

Reply

Where can I get these coconut popsicles you speak of?! Also, I would wear the same leggings every single day if I could.

Reply

totally with ya on the cilantro thing

Reply

omg you are talented! I don’t think I could ever longboard, take a picture & chew gum! haha & that’s so cool that you went to Hawaii for a semester & I love the silly faces!

Reply

I love cilantro too!nits so fresh and delicious!

My favorite popsicle flavor is a banana creamy! I could live off Mexican food for the rest of my life! Cheese… Chips… Salsa and guac… Delicious!

The coolest place I have lived… South Jordan Utah haha

Reply

I love orange popsicles, and mango sounds good, too! We watched the Tourist a few weeks ago – loved it. I want to go back to Italy so bad – how about a couples trip?? :)

Reply

Well, I must say that I also LOVE cilantro. I want to marry it somedays, then I remember I’m already married.

My fave flavour would have to be anything tropical like coconut (yes, please!). I love spice so I’d have to say Mexican, but can you really go wrong with Italian?!

I lived in Australia for four months and it was AMAZING. I think about wanting to go back ALL the time!

Reply

I love all of the faces you make! You still manage to look super pretty…whenever I try to make a face, I look hideous, woof…Also, I love knowing that a girl can eat so much :) My friends in college used to make fun of me because of how much food I eat…way to make me feel good guys

Coconut is my favorite!! When we take road trips I always get one at the convenience stores!

Latest movie – “Kung Fu Panda 2” soo funny and adorable!! I loved it as much as the kids!!

Yum, those coconut popsicles sound great! I love all types of foods, but I may have to choose Italian too because they also have gelato.

Reply

Yum, I love coconut popsicles!

This post totally screams SUMMER!! I love it. I would have to pick mexican because I could literally eat at cafe rio every single meal. They wouldn probably have to work on their dessert though.

Love ya girl! Have a great day. And girl date soon? Yes please!

Reply

You HAVE to go to Italy. Aghhh it is seriously the most beautiful place I have ever been to. Like legit America sucks in comparison. I’m gonna sound like a total nerd but the architecture and the history is unreal.
PS. I saw in previous posts you are headed to Cali. What part are you going to be in?!?

Reply

I am in love with cilantro too. I actually just recently discovered my love for it after realizing it wasn’t just garnish but super amazing on almost everything besides sweets! My mom and I actually have a running joke about how many days in a row I can wear leggings – lets just say people began to wonder if I owned anything else :) And coconut and mango are my fav popsicles too, also the tropical ones from Trader Joes are super awesome with chunk of fruity goodness! Seriously, I love your blog too much and your awesome personality that shine through with each post, can’t get enough!

Reply

The last movie I saw was Super 8. It was AWESOME. I loved it so much.

Reply

I like fudgesicles, do those count? Fruit ones, I had an amazing mango one from Dreyer that I died for!

Rachel and I have been doing a Star Wars marathon. We watched part of Star Wars VI last night for her birthday :) Johnny Depp is quite talented. I loved his portrayal of The Mad Hatter, he’s hilarious as Captain Jack Sparrow and I will forever love Edward Scissor Hands! Extremely talented man.

That is tricky one… I love Italian (pasta, cheese, etc), Mexican (lllooovveee a good chicken salad or shredded beef anything, and Indian (Love curry!)…. I think I’d choose Mexican !

I was born in Southern California, and I can’t wait to move back there in August.

Reply

Janae come back and play in Hawaii! We can eat ice cream and froyo and run on the north shore!

Reply

I love banana popsicles – so delish.
I went to see Source Code for a girl’s night.
I was born in SoCal and I love the mountains/beach but I REALLY love Texas. Afordable houses, amazing people, and tons to do.
Mexican food for sure!

Reply

Mango flavoured anything is always going to come out on top.

I love Johnny Depp…it’s the only reason I want to see the new (ish) Pirates movie.

I would choose Japanese and all I would eat would be sushi…I have an iron stomach in regards to raw fish and I refuse to get mercury poisoning.

The only place I’ve ever lived in has been Vancouver, Canada, and it’s pretty damn sweet. Stanley Cup game tonight! But I’ve been to Italy twice and you simply must go! The gelato…heaven, I tell you, heaven.

Reply

I love coconut popsicles too!!! Followed by this mysterious blue flavor (not raspberry)… hmmmmm….. I would definitely choose MEXICAN yum!!! And my favorite place I have ever lived (past 3 years) Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic. Unfortunately, they speak the Spanish but they don’t have the good food. Lol. Plantains = YUCK!!

Reply

Seriously?!?! I can’t believe Bentley!!

The last movie I saw was Bridesmaids, which was quite hilarious–definitely a little raunchy though.

I don’t really feel like I’ve lived anywhere cool. I know some people are envious of the fact I currently live in Alaska, but trust me, it isn’t that cool–unless you are a male, who hates warm weather, and likes to hold a gun 24/7. Ha!

Reply

Favorite popsicle is root beer, and the coolest place I have ever lived, is home. Though I wouldn’t mind moving to Italy sometimes, what an awesome place.

Reply

mexian food…i could eat it until i explode! though i guess that could happen in some form should i OD on burritos! burritos or tacos are my top picks, but i’m with you on the sweet bread thing. they always just taste stale and i’m not a fan.

and johnny, i will take him any way, shape or form. he is probably one of my biggest celeb crushes, he can do no wrong in my book.

Reply

I LOVE coconut popsicles! The problem is my kids love them too…so they are hard to keep in the house. Mexican food is my favorite food hands down. My mother-in-law is from Mexico and is the BEST cook ever! We lived in Hawaii for four years and loved every minute of it!

Reply

I’ve been craving Mexican something fierce for a while now. I want those tacos!

If I had to pick one kind of cuisine…it would be Mexican. I could live off of tacos.
Sweet bread is awesome. I’m team Billy for this one (although I would ALSO have that coconut popsicle, thanks!)
I lived in Hawaii for 10 years, also: South Africa, Mozambique, Germany, England, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Hong Kong…and now Georgia. Favorite place was Germany!
