Candy in cookies

You may ask how I win friends, make my family hang out so much with me, how I am the favorite aunt and how I scored Billy……….

I have the answer for you.

Those babies would be PB M & M cookies, I usedthis recipe that I found at allrecipes.com.  Allrecipes is my favorite (beside’s blogs of course) website to find dessert recipes.

It is all about bribing people or manipulating them to love you by feeding them straight cubes of butter with some m & m’s mixed in there.  To win even more friends tell them they are low fat and only 20 calories per cookie.  Gets them every time.

In case you were wondering how it is humanly possible for a girl to survive on ice cream and candy alone you can rest assured because I am managing to squeeze in some vegetables and protein in every now and then when my mouth has too many canker sores to eat any more sour patch kids.

Mahi-mahi salad with a high-protein tortilla, spinach, broc, corn and egg.  I am telling you that salsa really does make the best salad dressing.  Plus, I get the five finger discount snagging it from my mom’s food storage. Thanks madre.

Because I am clueless on what else to write about I am going to throw in some picture from exactly two years ago today. It is almost our wedding anniversary so brace yourself for way too much cheesiness and photo overload over the next few days.

My favorite ladies…..

and one with my parentals.

Where do you turn on the internet to find recipes?

-Blogs, allrecipes.com and I LOVE Martha Stewart’s recipes.

Do you bake or cook more?

-I think I bake more because whenever I ‘cook’ I just throw a bunch of vegetables with some protein and carbs thrown in.  Life is just better that way, baking is the best therapy ever.

Do you ever think about what happened in previous years on a certain date?

-Yep, I love looking back through my journals to see what I did on the same date.  Nerd alert.

Every time I see a picture of you and your husband I am struck by what a lovely and HAPPY couple the two of you make :)

I often think about what happened in previous years on a certain date. Right now I am thinking a lot about the first week of May from lots of different years past. Lots of memories…

Oh goodness, I think I'm drooling on my keyboard again! Those cookies look divine! I get most of my recipes from blogs, so I'm excited to see you post those!

I'm really excited for more wedding pictures (I already looked at the ones you've posted)! I'm obsessed with weddings and the royal wedding only fueled my desire to pour over other people's wedding pictures.

mmmmmmmmmmmm. maybe i can land a boy as cute as billy if i make them? i may have one in mind…gosh we are so evil :)

and YES to your last question. i always think "where was i XX years ago?"

M&M's in cookies are seriously the best.

I do a little of both baking and cooking. I'm allergic to gluten, so I get stuck cooking for myself most of the time (it's hard to go out and eat), and I am RIGHT there with you with allrecipes.com. It's the best!

To your last question, I do but I don't. I try to remember the good things but forget the bad!

I love allrecipes.com–great site fo sho :)

Just had our 1 year wedding anniversary-and it was lovely!! I bake more than I cook….whoops. haha.

ALLRECIPES IS THE BOMBBBB! I'm pretty sure I used it for every single holiday recipe I made this year :)

Your pics are GORG girl!

And I DEF cook more, but I plan on doing more healthful baking in the near future :)

and your pics are gorgeous! thanks for sharing :)

Treats are the only bribe that works for getting my kids to eat their veggies, haha! My favorite recipes are ones I snag from friends who bring yumminess to potluck gatherings. I also like Cooking Light.

I keep my old calendars and love reminiscing just by looking at my shorthand notes from a particular date. My family gets impressed too when I can tell them what date we went on a certain vacation, lol!

I think I bake more and lately have been sneaking in healthy stuff to my kids favorite banana bread recipe. If I make it w/choc chips in it they don't even know there's flax & veggie puree in it- the power of chocolate!!

I love allrecipes! Best site ever – well besides yours and mine of course. I love to read people's reviews and get tips, best part.

I cook more, baking requires accuracy and I'm not good at following directions.

And seriously, if your sister is ever within a 100 mile radius of Louisville I want her to do my hair. Does she ever have a bad hair/makeup day?!?! (and of course you look great too!)

I love Martha Stewart's site, brokeassgourmet.com for cheap food that seems expensive, the Food Network, and (as annoying as she is) Rachel Ray's website.

Those cookies look great! Very chewy.

I'm gonna check out this recipe because I have easter chocolate candies to use up! Blogs are my go-to recipe source. I probably cook more, but I like baking more because cookie dough is obviously the best food in the world.

I have to agree with you about the baking = therapy! It's almost as great as running. In fact, I just started a blog today about my baking/decorating hobby. Feel free to check it out. I'll post more stuff as it comes up.

You are so stunning! I am a huge sentimental freak. The Husband better be ready on our anniverary! :)

I cook more than bake, then end up taking meals to friends because I make more than I can eat! Your cookies look amazing. Ok, all the salads and food pics look amazing….I may or may not be considering a plane trip to Utah…(jk, I'm not that creepy!)

i mostly find my recipes on blogs, but my mom has some super good cook books that i like to peruse every now and then!

i do a 50/50 ratio of cooking and baking. baking doesn't last in this household with my boyfriend & my dad and my sweet-toothed sista! :) i might pick at things too (especially cookie batter. i can't escape the cookie batter!!)

i sometimes think about what happened on a certain time/date. the other day at 8 in the morning i was thinking, "at this time on saturday (meaning today) i'll be running my first 10K" WHICH WENT AWESOME! :D

I love allrecipes but my favorite baker of all time is Anna at cookiemadness.net. That girl gets the science of baking and describes recipes in such a way that you know exactly how it will turn out. I used to be obsessed with baking but am trying to cut out the sugar and load up the veggies and protein, so I am finally learning about cooking!

Reply

I love allrecipes.com too! I made a cinnamon roll recipe from there this morning. :D
I definitely bake more. I have a big sweet tooth.
I also think about dates and what I was doing in the past. I had fun recently looking through an old running log from 2004!
I wish you could email those cookies! They look delish. xo

I love your salads! They always look amazing. I have a friend that knows dates of everything!!! We actually had a conversation today about it and then I read your blog!!!

caker sores from sour patch kids…ahh i have found my kindred spirit :)
those pictures are so cute, can't wait to hear all about the wedding and other adorableness

i'm glad i'm in good company with the nerd alert of looking back through journals. it's so fun, until i become shamed\bewildered with my past ramblings(one can only write so much about the backstreet boys) and want to go into what i call amy march syndrome and just burn all my old journals. thankfully i usually just put them back in the box and swear to make sure i avoid the middle school years :)

thanks for following me and your sweet comment, the fact that you actually want to read my blog kinda makes my life. happy weekend!!

I very rarely bake. I think the last time was on D's birthday last November. We made some brownies. And ate the whole pan within 48 hours. And THAT'S why I don't bake. lol We have no self-control.

I have an anniversary coming up in less than two weeks too. #4!

I always LOVE your photos! You're so flipping gorgeous! That salad makes me HUNGRY. I'm going to raid my fridge right now. Which means I'll have a bowl of spinach/broccoli. The barracks suck. Haha. But I still make sure to have my broccoli. ;) I know you understand that!

I definitely bake a whole lot more than cook. I have used allrecipes before with success. Also, I just type whatever I'm looking for into google….and then browse. It's fun :)

Cute pictures!!
Those cookies look DIVINE!!

Those cookies look amazing!

I'm terrible at remembering anniversaries of important dates. When Mike and I first got married my mom would wish us our 1 week, month, etc. anniversary and I never remembered until she told me. Oops!

I cook more than bake, but only out of eating necessity!

Those cookies look delicious! The past year or so, I always turn to blogs for recipes. I love it since blogs are often better than websites at having lots of photos. I was just thinking earlier today about what I was doing last year at this time. It's almost been a year since we got engaged, so it's a fun time to reminisce!

Beautiful pics once again Janae!! Your family is gorgeous and you and Billy will create the Next Top Model!

allrecipes.com and my fav blogs is where I go to for recipes. I own one recipe book: Athlete's Palate!

Oh my gosh, I HAVE to make those cookies. Never mind the fact that I just made cupcakes two days ago, those cookies need to exist in my life as soon as possible. Hmm… I'm thinking a trip to the store after my 5 miler today? I mean, I need to refuel after my run, right?? LOL
Aww… This Friday was supposed to be me and my hubby's wedding day, but we had to move it up when he got orders to Korea.
I'm looking forward to seeing the photo overload! lol

Reply

I have to try those cookies!

Where do you turn on the internet to find recipes?
allrecipes is a good one…otherwise i use the betty crocker website because i'm a nerd

Do you bake or cook more?
I used to only bake, but now I'm trying to teach myself to be more domestic and cook actual dinners for my man and I instead of just brownies and things.

Do you ever think about what happened in previous years on a certain date?
Haha, yes! Last year on this day, I ran my first race!

Reply

Your cookies look like the ones you buy in the store – job well done lady! :)

Reply

Mmmmm…candy cookies are my favorite kind :). I hardly ever bake because I'm always scared I'll screw it up somehow. Cooking seems easier because you can just throw things you like together.

Reply

Um how much to ship those to Toronto? They look insanely delicious. PB M & Ms might be my favourite candy ever made. I get most of my recipes off blogs. They're usually the most delicious! And I tend to bake more. My real meals are really simple and a lot of the time raw (salads or wraps) so baking is where it's at for me :)

Reply

cute pics!

Your parents are soo adorable! They made beautiful children as well!! :)

Yep…I'm going to try that cookie recipe! Love peanut butter and m&m's…so they obviously would make a great cookie!

Love allrecipes! I love to bake. I bake the most during the holidays. So, I cook more throughout the year.

Have a great evening!! :) luv ya xo

Reply

I love AllRecipes because they're always there for me when I google search for a recipe :) But I'm always trying to cook more recipes from bloggers.

I used to bake a lot more than I cook, since I lived at home with my mom. But since cooking for myself, I obviously do that more. I definitely need to step up my baking game, though!

You have no idea how bad I want one of those cookies. :/

You and your man are so cute together :) what an attractive couple !
Candy in cookies sounds good to me ;)
I usually go to foodnetwork.com or blogs… or cookbooks !

I love blogs for recipes and baking up a storm……I like when I can look back and remember what I was doing the year before. This year, I'm loving it even more because last year was a struggle for me. I'm in such a better place now!

I was huge into allrecipes but have since found myrecipes.com. They have a million recipes from a ton of different publications so I try to stick to ones from Cooking Light but do splurge every one in awhile! :)

The recipe at allrecipes.com doesn't mention peanut butter. How much did you include?

I'm gonna bake these babies this weekend!!!

Wow those cookies look good!! I really like to use the Food Network website for recipes!

Beautiful photos!!!! I love the blog Annie's Eats and Brown Eyed Baker. GREAT recipes!! Oh, my other favorite is My Kitchen Cafe. I *heart* baking!!

Those cookies look good! It's so true that if you want someone to like you feed them, works with animals and people.

Yes, I often reflect on what life was like the year before, sometimes because of a yearly event or something major that happened the prior year.

I love the allrecipes website. I love baking but I think I cook more.

Reply

I bake a bunch, but i also date a former chef so he does a lot of the cooking. For recipes I use cookinglight.com a lot. Also from the blog world i love big girls small kitchen, 101cookbooks, and eat live run
