70 degrees yesterday and 12 feet of snow today. Utah, how rude……I switched out my summer clothes for my winter clothes yesterday and I refuse to get them back out again.  I guess it will be pj’s until you start making better choices mother nature.

We literally rolled out of bed and went on over to the bro and sis-in-laws house for conference watching and cereal chomping.

Billy makes fun of me for mixing all of the cereals together, aka cereal suicide.  This should be no surprise to him that I do such a thing, has he seen my fro-yo combinations?!?!s  I like to just close my eyes and be surprised about whether I am going to get a marshmallow, frosted mini wheat, corn pop or cheerio.

IMG 5122

Billy channeled his inner fat kid and took tortilla chips and scooped up Doritos like it was chip dip.

IMG 5123

For lunch Shelly made us delicious pasta.  The noodles were perfect, I somehow ALWAYS overcook mine and they are too mushy, but hers were perfection.

And now this is what we are doing.  Party animals.  I swear life is so busy all week long and then by Sunday we all crash even though we don’t do ANYTHING except sit around and eat.

————————————————————————————————-

What is the busiest day of the week for you?

-Wednesdays are always crazy busy with school, gym, spin, candy eating and the physical therapist lately.

Do you ever participate in a food suicide (mixing 3 or more things together)?

-Cereal, my fro-yo combinations and in the past soda.

What is the hardest exercise class you have ever taken?

-Last Monday’s abs class and I am going back for more tomorrow along with maybe 5 minutes of running ha:)  In two weeks I will be running 26.2 in Boston…..hmmmm.

Do you ever sleep on the floor like my bro-in-law currently is?

-I LOVE sleeping on the floor and in about 28 seconds I will be doing the same thing.  I can sleep on any surface as long as I have a blanket.

I had to sleep on the floor this weekend… rough stuff!

last comment i promise… where you live. is BEAUTIFUL.

OMG!!! Utah is Beautiful!!! Can I come visit?!?!

I make food suicides all the time. My older brother started my habit when I was a little girl with soda!

Reply

I love food suicide. I agree cereal and fro-yo combo's are the best!! and where you live is beautiful!

Reply

Haha I mix all my cereal too! It keeps life interesting :)

I don't sleep on the floor on purpose. It's more like I just happened to be on the floor when I fell asleep…

Reply

I gotta say: your day looks pretty much PERFECT :-) And to echo everyone else – WOW Utah is beautiful. Makes old new york look a little ugly!

My fro-yo's are always food suicide!

Reply

I can never decide what flavor ice cream I want (at home my dad keeps about 4 tubs of it) so I have a little bit of everything.

I sleep on the floor at night when I can't fall asleep in my bed. Its weird but it works.

And the hardest class I've ever taken is an athletic conditioning circuit class

Reply

I love food suicides! My husband laughed at me about ten minutes ago for mixing 3 cereals together. My froyo is the same way. I taught a super hard zumba class saturday, I felt like I was kicking my item butt haha. I can sleep anywhere!

Reply

omg Janae Utah is gorgeous!!! what a beautiful view. And this is coming from someone who hates the snow!!

your cereal bowl looks like my heaven. one type of cereal in a bowl sounds so boring to me. I need variety! I eat a lot of fruit suicides too. Mango, apples, and grapes.. yummmmyyy. sometimes if i have mike n ikes lying around, i mix those with pretzels and eat them together. that's totally gross and i can't believe i just admitted that…. :)

your sunday today sounds like my yesterday. I didn't move from the couch from 4pm to 10pm….. when I moved from the couch to my bed. party animal!! Sometimes you just need a day of nothing to really treat yourself after a long, hard week! Feels good!

Reply

I have slept on the floor before but it hurts my hips! I normally stick to a bed lolz. I hope it warms back up over there, it's been pretty nice in upstate NY for once.

Reply

nope no food suicides for me. i like to keep all my food separate. which i always thought was weird and that your way was normal!

Reply

Cereal suicide? Funniest thing ever! My dad does it and it drove me crazy as a kid.

Reply

That snow/mountain photo is gorgeous. Snow is so pretty, but it's so darn cold! Someone should figure out a way to make it snow when it's summertime and warm.

I'm with you on the noodle problem. I have a problem with reaching "al dente." I usually either drain 'em too soon or let 'em go too long.

Mmmmm…cereal. That's the thing I miss the most since giving up (for the most part) processed food. I love me some Cap'n Crunch.

Not that I WOULD sleep on the floor given any other choice, but I probably COULD. I swear I'm borderline narcoleptic. I can fall asleep anywhere anytime.

Soft drink suicides as a kid.
Wednesdays are busy – gym, school, cub scouts, and church forr teenager that night. Lots of quality time in the car.
Hardest exercise class lately – probably athletic training. But if I ever walk out of any exercise class thinking that wasn't so bad I know I didn't work hard enough.
Hardest exercise class ever – the first one I took. I was so out of shape and scared of the super fit people judging my flabby self. Thankfully I kept at it.

Reply

i sleep on the floor all the time. it actually helps my back a lot!

Reply

Love cereal suicides. favorite Combo: Life, Mixed Berry Cheerios and Frosted Flakes.

I agree with an above comment, if I cannot fall asleep in my bed, I move to the floor and it does the trick, i have no idea why.

Busiest day for me is Tuesday. Everyone needs a recover day on the weekend, especially when we do as much as we do during the week. Enjoy every minute of flopping today.

Reply

oh no! i can't believe you got snow! I am so over winter! I love that picture of Billy using the tortilla to scoop up Doritos…that is amazing! hahahha. I like combining cereal, but only certain kinds. They have to mesh well together!

Reply

That cereal suicide looks awesome actually! :) And although the snow is a major PITA, it's pretty… doesn't make it better does it? :)

Reply

Yuck to that snow!!! I'm so sorry. :(

I would have to say that Wednesdays are busiest for me too! But it dependson the week as well.

Reply

Busiest day has to be Monday for me! Up and running (litterally) at 6. Husband has to be at work by 7, I have a 7:15 appointment with the baby, we are at the gym by 8:30 to 10:30. So then I get to VEGE!

I don't eat cereal unfortunately, it doesn't keep me full :(

Hardest exercise class I try to take and epic fail at is called Body Attack….it is hard and hard on the joints!

I sleep on the floor when I have to put the baby down at my sis-in-laws house, which is tile through out. Lots of blankets on the tile but still hard! Carpet is a different experience and I don't mind it as much!

Reply

Those views are absolutely gorgeous, but I am sorry you had more snow! I do the same thing with cereal and throw in a bunch of random cereals and granola + some PB & milk. I don't wanna have to choose only ONE!
Boot camps are the hardest classes I've taken. The instructors take those seriously and work me to exhaustion.

Reply

When I go to the movies I like to pack a ziploc bag of everything..some nuts, pretzels, and a little of whatever candies we have at home. In the dark when you pick something it's like a surprise every time!

If I'm in a hotel and the bed is super soft, I actually move to sleep on the floor. I am strange. :)

Reply

That view is NUTS!

We have been doing similar at our house today – I was up at 5:30am to go run 7 miles (my longest ever!) and have been lying about since I got home. :)

Reply

I love mixing cereals!! I also love mixing snack foods like goldfish, teddy grahams, pretzels, and whatever else you have in the pantry!!

Reply

Hardest class I ever took was Boot Camp and I loved every minute of it! I mix salty things together and produce my own snack mix…with a surprise of choc chip or M&Ms of course ;-)

Reply

Snow in April?! Ugh, remind me to never move to Utah! Haha, that sucks!

Reply

I ALWAYS mix my cereals EACH AND EVERY DAY! Glad I'm not alone.

AND I MISS UTAH SO MUCH RIGHT NOW! We went "mountain biking" today which was a total joke since there are NO mountains in Boston. I get a pit in my stomach when I think about all my beloved trails in SLC. Boo.

Glad to see Spr-inter is in full-swing in Utah! Snow in April? Sounds about right! :-)

Reply

I totally mix cereals! I love all the different flavors and textures. I also mix Slurpee flavors…my favorite is Coke and Orange Creamcicle. What, am I the only one who still drinks slurpees? My husband has me addicted!

Reply

I am not good at sleeping anywhere but a comfy bed. It makes me truly charming to travel with! That and the fact that I'm an incredibly picky eater (thus no suicides). Did you watch conference on Saturday too? It's all weekend, right?

Reply

no cereal sucide here.
I have slept on the floor and it s**cked
px90 is hard
I love lazy sundays

Reply

What a great picture in the snow!! LOVE IT!

I'm going to a big people sleepover next weekend and I'm dreading sleeping on the floor after a long brick w/o and the night before a long bike ride. But the hot tub party will be fun :D

Reply

People really eat just one kind of cereal at once? That's nonsense! I also love to mix nut butters! Hardest class is a toss up between spinning and total conditioning. Two things make my fave spin class so hard, the fact the the teacher is an ultra marathoner and and iron man triathlete so he doesn't seem to realize what a regular person works out like and the he is GORGEOUS and it's hard to pedal with weak knees =).

Reply

Busiest weekday – it changes depending on my work schedule! I love mixing cereals together – I really can't imagine eating cereal any other way. But I gave up cereal for Lent, so it's been a while!
I took a really hard strength/core yoga class last week that was so challenging. It was humbling! But also motivation to get better.

Reply

The only thing I mix is a little Coke in with the Coke Zero, and maybe veggies and rice. Other than that, I don't even like different types of foods or flavors to mix. I separate skitles, jelly beans, etc by flavor and only eat the same flavors together, same with chex mix. Does that make me boring?

Reply

thats pretty much how it is here at our house too lol… we get out of church and eat a wonderful homemade meal and then the week comes crashing down on us and we all take naps in random places… floor, chair, couch, bed lol… its the day of eating and naps… and then hmwk ;) lol

Reply

I love suicide cereal and I thought I was the only one!

Reply

oh my GOSH i have never met anyone else that loves to mix their cereals! everyone always looks at me so weird when they see my cereal bowls all filled to the brim with all sorts of crazy concoctions.. fact: every morning for breakfast from the time i was in kindergarten until i was in fifth grade i had a bowl of cheerios, kix, and lucky charms, all mixed together. BEST combination, ever. you should totally try it! we can be cereal suicide best friends. in the healthiest way possible since that sounds scary like that.

ANYWAY,

-busiest day = by far THURSDAY. going straight from school at nine am until work at three pm til i come home and crash and do homework and eat more cereal as my fourth meal.

-hardest exercise class = this crazy yoga class signed up for once. actually it wasn't that hard i think i was just confused and i actually fell asleep for the last fifteen minutes of class because i didn't understand the position we were supposed to be in and i was exhausted… so i guess that kind of answers the next question, too – i can sleep anywhere, anytime. even in the middle of doing yoga? i promise i can do normal people yoga like at home with my own mat, the stuff they were doing at this place was just crazy weird.

ps so glad you got to meet up + get froyo with a bunch of bloggies yesterday + my sister & my nephew baby d! i couldn't make it because i already had plans but i will hopefully meet you sometime before you leave utah! that's determination right there (:

ps just realized how long this comment is.. hahah i love getting long comments though so hopefully you don't mind (: hope you're enjoying your sunday girl!

Reply

From one cereal connoisseur to another – I don't know how you can stomach cereal suicide. You are far more adventurous than I.

Reply

haha…food suicide. If you saw like everyting I eat all the time. It's food suicide at almost every meal. My sister and I call ourselves mixologists, and our bowls are concoctions because we mix so much stuff and its usually so ridiculous.

Reply

Ohhhh baby. I regularly go on mass MURDER-SUICIDE RAMPAGES of my food. Haha i should be locked up. Cereal and ice cream are my favourite victims. Also NOTHING is off-limits to me on toast/in sandwiches (marshmallow, jellybean and PB sandwiches anyone!?). Oh and I often throw the weirdest array of stuff into pasta/rice and call it a meal (last night's dinner = pasta with broccoli, chicken nuggets, pickled onions, olives, and cheese, in a 'sauce' of mayo, soy sauce and ketchup. so, so trashy but seriously delicious).

I also looove making random 'snack mixes'. Chips, pretzels, candy, marshmallows, cookies, cereals, nuts.. whatever. Toss it all together and devour!

The weather took the same ugly turn for us here last weekend. It hasn't gotten nice again since!
I slept on the floor at my track meet yesterday. Concrete makes a nice pillow after racing!
More often than not, my food is suicide. Right now I'm eating a yogurt mess that looks disgusting but tastes soooo good. I swear the uglier it is the better!

Reply

I like sleeping on the floor too! And I mix cereals (or oatmeal + cereal) almost daily. haha.

Reply

ps. I am being such a cyber stalker weirdo today and obsessively going over your old entries and writing down anything that pops out at me.

I'm running a half this Sunday and I'm peeing myself. I've done a full marathon (which was my first race of any kind EVER) but never a half. I really want to do my best (and somewhere deep down I feel certain that I really can), so am spending this week trying to prepare mentally and physically as best I can. I would LOVE to hear your pre-race rituals… how much you taper for different distances, your workouts in the week leading up to the race, the little mantras you tell yourself to help push a bit harder, what time you get up morning of the race, what you eat race morning (and in the days before), how much you warm up (and how), how you pace yourself, how you manage the feelings of doubt/disappointment when you're not making the time you want…. ANYTHING! This would make a great post, but even if you felt bored and wanted to send me an email ([email protected]) I would appreciate it sooo much.

For some weird reason, other people's race stories is so comforting to me haha. And you're like my running hero. (yes i am a tiny bit pathetic shhhhh)

Reply

I do mix my cereals! My hubby thinks it weird…well, he just doesn't know what he's missing! Favorite combo: frosted flakes and honey nut cheerios!

I want to visit you in Utah!! Soo pretty!!

Busiest days def. Mondays!!

Hardest workout: def. spin class!! makes me feel out of shape!! :)

I'm half-korean and my asian genetics draw me to the floor!! haha!! very comfortable sleeping on the floor!!

HAVE A GREAT EVENING!! :)

Reply

The first picture of Utah in the snow is amazing! The picture almost looks fake! haha Your surroundings are you are awesome.

And I love cereal suicide, I try to mix at least 2-3 flavors together, because then each bite you get something different!

Reply

YESS I sleep on the floor all the time:) Haha and yesss I mix so much stuff together, it's my job basically. Slash I know right?! WHat is with the warmth and then sudden Jack Frosty winter?!!

Reply

Your snow may be yucky but WOW! You live in a gorgeous place!

I'm ALL ABOUT cereal suicides. When I was a kid, I used to get "slushy suicides" in the summertime, too….delish!

My hardest exercise class was actually a "latin dance aerobics" class. I thought it looked quirky and fun, but I soon learned that I have NO hip-shaking abilities- I looked completely goofy! I think I should probs stick to running :)

Also, totally with you on floor-sleeping. If there's a surface, I can sleep on it.

Reply

OMG – that top pic of the mountains: BEAUTIFUL!

We don't get that in Florida. :-(

Reply

i hate sleeping on the floor!!!

Reply

SO much foood! I'm hungry all over again!

The only time I sleep on the floor is when I'm sick. For some reason, the cold tile floor makes me feel like I don't have the flu and want to die.

Reply

Ha! I didn't know it had a name, but I love to do salad dressing suicide.

Reply

Utah is definitely beautiful!! WOW!!! :) We do that on Sundays, too!! During the week we're "go-go-go!"

Reply

My busiest days are m-w. work-gym-errands-home-shower-cook-clean-bed.

Reply

Wow! Those pictures of Utah are SO very pretty!! I can't believe it is still snowing there- so crazy. I was laying out in the sun all weekend! (not trying to rub it in- I promise!) :)
And, I love that Billy is using a chip to scoop the rest of the chips- lol! So creative ;)
I always mix cereals- that is how they are best!!

Reply

the views you have are absolutely incredible!!! soo lucky!

Reply

those mountains are gorgeous!!!

And I mix everything….it's the only way to eat. People just don't realize how tasty it is.

Reply

What kind of camera did you use for these pictures?

Reply

I love that you call it cereal suicide! I'm also glad that you mix your cereals too. Having one is just too boring. My family calls it cereal buffet. Sunday is always our cereal buffet day and even the dogs get cereal buffet (they like cheerios and crumbled cracklin oat bran with a splash of milk). Keep on rockin the multiple cereals!!!

Reply

I just love your blog! You're cute and everything you eat is so yummy!!

Reply

I don't keep enough kinds of cereal to make a suicide, but I think it sounds totally yummy :)

Thursdays are usually my busy day – I wake up, work out, pack, go to work for 8-10 hours, fly home, take care of whatever pressing needs are around the apartment (mail, etc), and then usually try to see my friends for a drink since I've been gone all week.

Hmm, I don't think I've taken any crazy classes yet, but I REALLY want to change that!

I only sleep on the floor at sleepover parties :)

Reply

So I'm late to post because I was there–in UTAH– LOVING all the snow (since I was skiing)…hate we didn't get to meet up, but I wasn't exactly close to where you are. Maybe next time! :)
