This Friday night was no different.
We went to one of those crazy timeshare presentations and ended up leaving without spending a dime but got in return a $50 gift card to one of my favorite sushi restaurants and a 4 day all-inclusive (airfare and food too) trip to CANCUN!!!!
Really short baby hair bangs are cool, I promise….you should cut yours short too so we can be twinners.
There was a price to be paid for all of these amazing free gifts:
-We had to tell old men that fake bake and wear gold necklaces NO a million times…..”I cannot put down $6,000 tonight for a vacation home. I am a teacher and spend all my money on running shoes and ice cream cones.”
-I got in trouble for tweeting during the presentation instead of paying attention.
-I had to fake laugh at their corny jokes (that is how we got the restaurant gift card, we won the most enthusiasm award).
-Getting a stomach ache from sucking on about 599 lifesavers. I was bored and I eat when I am bored.
We did have a good time together and to reward our efforts we went to CAFE RIO!!!! We used a gift card from the in-laws:) They hooked us up.
REAL FOOD!!! Mom don’t worry, I was super careful and ate on the side of my mouth that wasn’t operated on.
It has never tasted so good in my life and it only took me 45 minutes to eat it. I savored every bite.
After dinner we went home and watched the OFFICE, SO FUNNY!!! I was a party animal….up until 11 p.m.

I did one of those timeshare things in Maui on my honeymoon to get a BOGO excursion. They said it would last 30 min and it lasted 2 hours. SOOOO painful. But it was nice saving the money cuz I be cheap too.

I love the office, it's hard to pick my favorite episode. I do love the george foreman one. I also love the one where michael makes the fun run to "end rabies" haha, yeah that one definitely cracks me up.

I love the office! Last season was a little disappointing but they have upped their game this season. Favorite episode = Diversity Day.
Never been to a time share thingy, in fact we have avoided them like the plague when we've been on vacation in the past. Now… I am considering seeking one out. I can say no a billion times for a sweet deal.
Plan is to do BL Last Chance Workout video. Husband is out of town and therefore I can't go running when I have a 5 month old with me :(. Oh well, videos are an ok substitute.
p.s. I love being cheap. When Billy is done with school and you aren't so poor anymore, you'll probably still enjoy being cheap. We do!

i love reading someone else's blog from the perspective of a struggling 20-something, working hard without a lot of $$$ to show for it. that's me! once i mentioned that my bank account had 54 cents in it because i thought it was funny (i got paid the next day) and you should have seen the amount of SYMPATHY comments i got. it was kind of funny.

My hair is so dry it breaks off so I always have baby hairs. Thankfully my hair is curly so people don't seem to notice (or maybe they do and don't say anything??).

No on ever attending a time share event, but my mom is the ultimate at finding free stuff. I have been dragged to more open houses and events where free stuff is promised, that I consider myself semi-pro.
Seven mile run in the snow drifts! It was surprisingly awesome, like legitimately playing in the snow and still keeping the air of an adult.

I just got home from training clients all morning…so I planned on doing a 7-8 mile run but now I'm kinda tired. Might need a power nap since I've been up since 5! I wanna run though. Inspire me??!?!?!
Oh and I used fake eyelashes for special occasions to try to look pretty and I have real hair clip in extensions what were so freakin expensive but look great in (my hair is long but naturally really thin so I do it more for volume than length)…and again that is usually only special occasions when I wanna look extra pretty :)

I like the second and third season of the office. The newer seasons aren't as funny – or at least that is what I Think! THis morning I ran an easy 5 miles in the cold! Then I did yoga which my legs loved. Now I am sitting in my recliner with my recovery socks on!

I'm so intimidated by those guys! I went to a timeshare meeting once when I was younger with my parents. So scary! haha. Luke and I had our honeymoon in Cancun- it was GORGEOUS. You're gonna love it! :)

My husband and I MIGHT rival you as the cheapest. My friends say I use the "E" word (expensive) way too often. We pride ourselves on being very money consious! We never go out to eat unless we have a coupon or a gift card- I plan my meals around what's on sale at the grovery store…I could go on for hours.
I told my hubs about what you guys did to get a free vac- and I for sure sparked an interest! wouldn't doubt it if he finds a time share presentation for us to go to! LOVE IT!

We went to do one of those timeshare presentations once. They said we could bring our then-only-one baby since he was a teeny infant and wouldn't be doing anything except maybe waking up to nurse. But when we got there they pitched this huge fit about NO kids allowed. It was a 50 minute drive in rush hour to get there. Needless to say, I was a tad annoyed. :P

A trip to Mexico is a sweet deal–nice work! A few months ago we got an invite in the mail to this German restaurant we've wanted to try FOREVER but it's $30-40 a plate. Of course the catch was we had to sit through an hour long retirement investing sales pitch. We were the youngest couple in the room by at least 30 years but the food was AMAZING. Totally worth it. :)

Today I had a swim meet, so that was my workout of the day ha. Tomorrow I'm going for a run, it's so nice to be getting back into.
I am the cheapest person alive and will save all my money for coffee beans and compression socks. Maybe some mousse and hair gel to keep my hair in check when I run as well.

K so this might be super lame that I’m commenting 1 yr + after your original post, but I just HAD to bc I love the office. Not as much as Friends, but it’s a close second for sure. My fave episode has to be the negotiation when Michael cross dresses…who makes it? Miss-sterious. And it is mysterious bc the buttons are on the wrong side, that’s the mystery of it. So many funny lines in that show that I could quote for forever. The injury is also a favorite…yes I’m a little fussy! Lol!! Anyway! Super sweet you won the vacation. And yes, I love sushi! Although I haven’t eaten it since being sick of the smell a I walked past the sushi bar on our cruise last October. No good. :(
