K, I went to the coolest ice cream place ever.
The lady working there thought I was creepy for taking pictures of her. Your welcome….gosh, the things I do for you:)
I met up with my best college friend, Darcee, after school (she is a health teacher too) and went to SubZero, I had a coupon there….2 for 1!
No pictures of us because I was still in my teacher clothes, you know the one’s that make me look like a 50 year old woman, and she was all cute and perfect and blah blah blah.
They make your ice cream with liquid nitrogen right in front of you.
I have never appreciated science this much until I can now apply it to ice cream. I would have gotten an A in high-school science if we did things like this

After chatting up a storm I went and picked up the cutest baby bath robe and slippers for another baby shower.
Utah is baby central and that means baby shower #2 within 120 hours of each other.
I didn’t want to be the weirdo taking pictures of her food at the baby shower….actually that’s not true I just completely forgot because my mind was occupied by the most delicious garlic hummus I have ever had. The sugar cookies that were there melted in my mouth and I can still taste the frosting.
So tonight, instead of the usual dreams of getting a 2:50 marathon (I know kind of ridiculous but let me have my dreams) I will be dreaming of running a 2:50 marathon with those sugar cookies at each water station along the way.
Ended the night with my second egg and cheese sandwich of the day but this one had avocado and slaughtered Subways version.

Your ice cream place is like I-Cream here in Chicago (yes, it does have a dirty name!). They make ice cream in front of you, and hot pudding for winter.
Avocado to try: mash the avocado up, mix w/ some oil (olive or vegetable), salt & pepper, and use as a very simple guac. Spread on toast or scoop w/ crackers or chips. I learned that when I was in Chile – they had that a lot. They should know, many avocados in the US come from Chile.

My worst subject was math, which is ironic since I am a finance professor and do really complicated math for my job. Before I was a finance professor, I was a geophysicist. Hello, mega hard math?!? I just joke and say that if math was my worst subject and I can do all of this that you should have seen how good I was at everything else. HA!
We have off for MLK Day because we live in the South. When I lived in the North, we never had off because we had off for President's Day. Apparently MLK is more important than the first President or the one who abolished slavery. Personally, I don't think you should have to choose one or the other. Take both. How is it in the West?

Worst grades…Nothing comes to mind as being awful. I think I had a rough year of math in middle school, then it got better. I remember I got a 2 on one of my AP Econ exams (can't remember if it was macro or micro). And in college, I did awful with Art History. I shoulda stuck with music for my fine arts credit, which I had done all throughout high school.

I made my worst grades in math! And I science, too for a while, but then my fear of failure kicked in and I actually did really well. I failed a semester of Spanish one semester, too but that's another story!

There was a place in my Chicago neighborhood (Wicker Park) called iCream. It was just like that place. They use all that crazy stuff and make you custom ice-cream, hence the name iCream. I thought it was just so amazing.
I can eat avocado with a spoon! It's ridiculous. I also love it on just plain bread. I LOVE it on pita with basil. So good. I call that pizza. So simple, and so good, it's like eating pizza. Well, to me at least!

I love that you dream of a 2:50 marathon…good for you for putting it out there! That's how dreams come true and yours will! Um, I love the word amazeballs…did you really say that? Awesome! I am going to start using that! :) Look who is calling who speedy…ha! definitely love avacado on anything…especially chips and sandwiches! Thanks for making me feel less old by all your kind words. I am always off on Mondays (I know, I'm spoiled) but my hubby is off for MLK day – yay! – so I'm having a guy's video game day for him for his 30th bday! I'm excited!
My worst grade was in history…yuck! I hated it. I still know nothing from history. It's sad.
Ponytail – I wear my hair down for work and church…other than that, it's in a ponytail 99.9% of the time. I always wonder why I bother to have long hair if I wear it in a ponytail every day? Oh yeah, so I can put it up in a pony tail – that's why! :)
