Give me my carbs now.

First off, after school I went to Costco with my mom and it was a good time.  Costco + mother time = a lil glimpse of heaven.

While driving home all I coud think about was don’t get pulled over again because I don’t think a cop would let me off with the excuse,
“I am so hungry and I need carbs so I am driving 20 above the speed limit.  Step away from the vehicle and nobody will get hurt.”
IMG_1813.JPG

Um, speed work makes me want carbs now and obviously that makes me have greasy bangs.

I wasn’t going to mess around with a salad or something silly like that.

I needed bulk and carbs and that is what I got.

I went straight to the kitchen without saying a word.

Dipped chicken in an egg wash.

Covered chicken with italian bread crumbs.

Topped with Marinera and loads of cheese.

Stuck in the oven for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

Cooked up some noodles and dinner was ready to be inhaled.

IMG_3618.JPG

This was sure fun

IMG_3614.JPG

And no, I still haven’t cleaned up yet.  Carbs, catching up on Modern Family episodes and Running come way before making sure your home is sanitary.

I literally am going to bed at 9.

What time do you go to bed every night?

Marinera sauce or Alfredo? (Calories, fat etc don’t matter in this question….we are talking only about taste mk)

-Alfredo all the way but we only had marinara sauce that I stole from my mom’s food storage, it was delicious though. But if I am going to be honest about my sauce needs….PESTO is the winner.  I could guzzle that stuff.

Carbalicioussss love me my carbs, I snackety snack all night! And alfredo all the way, I love creamy goodness over red any day:)

I TRY to get in bed by ten every night, but as a student sometimes that turns into 10:30 :( Computer is always off by ten though, that's my "cut off time" :)

Marinara. Last night I chewed hubby out for staying up to finish the football game while I tried to go to sleep because I had to be at work early today! Poor hubby!

Reply

hahah I go to bed so early. many times before 10 on a week night. Usually 9:30. Loved the speeding story and that the cop let you go!

Reply

Mmm…carbs!! I say Alfredo sauce but I do like both :) And, umm, hubby and I are in bed by 9 most nights BUT I do get up at 4:45 so I have an excuse :)

Reply

I try to go to bed about the same time every time too– I think if we lived in the same time zone we'd be the ones in the neighborhood with our lights out early :)

I used to run about 4:15 in the morning, so I went to bed pretty regularly between 9:30 and 10:00 p.m. Now I run more often around 5:30, meaning I get to stay up until a whopping 10:30 p.m.- but I try to spend the last 1/2 hour or so reading in bed to get good and tired!

Dave and I go to bed at 9 every night! But I loooove having a great night of sleep – I feel so good!

I got my husband a similiar helicopter for xmas (Air Hog, right?) and I literally laughed out loud at the picture of you in a ball. I've been living in fear for my head (well really my hair) since Christmas day. And his shoots missiles… Agh!

I definitely make Mike go to bed with me. Mostly because when it's cold out I like to steal his body heat until I warm up. I go to bed pretty much at 10 every night, but it's been later the past couple of weeks. We got Apple TV for Christmas so we've been watching TV on Netflix like it's our job. Who knew there were so many good shows out there???

Reply

My husband and I go to bed at the same time every night. If one of us wants to go to bed at 9, both of us do. If one of us wants to stay up till midnight, we do that too.

Reply

I could eat pesto with a spoon. Love it beyond all measure.
Bud and I don't live together, so I go to bed whenever I want. If I work a closing shift at work, I usually make it about an hour to 11:30 before I can't stay awake. Otherwise, I'm usually in bed between 10 & 11 so I can read before going to sleep!
I probably would not make Bud go to bed with me at the same time because I need some time to read every night–no exceptions allowed. Plus, he's a big boy, and can go to bed whenever he wants. :)

Reply

Pesto is my jam! I live with my fiance, and we usually go to bed at the same time. He actually falls asleep far easier than I do, but he wakes up for work at 4:30/5 in the AMs, so I guess it makes sense…

Reply

I am in bed by 9-930 every night! David stays up as late as he wants, when he's not staying here, otherwise he is in bed same time as me. He always says he feels better when he goes to sleep earlier so it's a good thing!

Reply

I always crave carbs after a longer run! I always get up super early in the morning and love having my "alone time" then. I am in bed by 9 every night. I don't make John get in bed with me when I go to bed because he would just toss and turn until I yell at him to get up and go watch TV. :) We have such a happy marriage, don't we? His "alone time" is at night after I go to bed for an hour or so. We cannot function if we are around each other at all times, which is healthy I suppose.

You're probably wondering when we get ::ahem:: adult time – don't worry, we've got it down pat! :) (Sorry if I offended your mom.)

I would be perfectly content with going to bed every night at 9pm but living on the east coast (okay, and work schedules!) doesn't really make that work. Some of the BEST shows don't get over until 10! I try to be in bed at 10 at the latest and sleep until 7. Yes, I enjoy at least 9 hours of sleep on most nights.

Marinara all the way!

Reply

I love how you lounge out in scrub pants:) I wear scrubs to work and then just use the old ones for lounge around pants. They are quite forgiving:) My son has one of those helicopters. They're lethal!!

I don't like Alfredo-nothing to do with fat or calories, just not a fan. I LOVE pesto!

My husband is gone a lot when I go to bed. I'm working on trying to get there earlier. I can't seem to get my brain to slow down enough to let me sleep sometimes.

Man, that chicken looks good-even at 8 in the morning!

Don't feel bad about going to bed at 10. That's what I do too! Staying up until 11 on the weekends definitely feels like I'm living it up! (That's what happens to you when you're a teacher. :D)

Reply

We try for 10… doesn't always happen :( On the weekends sometimes I have to stay up till 2 to be social, it is soooo hard!
Marinara, my tummy doesn't like alfredo :(

Carbs are the best. The first thing I think of when I get out of bed in the morning is, "must. have. carbs"

And definitely don't feel bad about going to bed at 10. If I could swing it, I totally would. I usually end up going to bed somewhere between 11 and midnight, even on the weekends.

And thanks for always commenting on my blog. Your comments make me smile!

I was in bed by ten last night, which is typically the norm. Justin wakes up a 5:30am, so he usually prefers an earlier bedtime.

I like mixing some marinara in my alfredo sauce. It makes a delicious creamy pink sauce that is amazing on all pasta. Not healthy at all but still so so good.

Reply

Too funny! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I make my guy come to bed with me each night too and my bedtime is 10pm! But he always tries to push it back later and it ends up being 11pm.

And I'd go w/ vodka sauce actually, the pink stuff. YUM!

I am usually in bed between 9 and 9:30- 4:50am comes early, but I have had a hard time getting back to my normal bed time since coming back from vacation- not cool!

I love all sauce: marinara, pesto, alfredo. I grew up in a half-Italian house so we ate red sauce all the time, so I can usually pass that up, I am a big pesto fan though, we rarely ever ate that!

Reply

LEts be honest, we all goto Costco so we can get a free meal, and eat all the samples, you go with a team, one person grabs 2 samples, if you really like it, you walk down the isle and back and the other person with you grabs 2 samples, I mean we have to look like we arnt pigs

Bed time 10pm

marinara! my fav. recipe: http://www.101cookbooks.com/archives/five-minute-tomato-sauce-recipe.html seriously, its even better than it sounds. the lemon zest pushed it over the top. sometimes we make it and just eat it out of the pot :)

mr. dawn just made a resolution to be in bed by 10pm! this has never happened in our 3 years of marriage, but he's done it faithfully for two weeks now. swoon!

If i try and cut myself off from carbs, i dream about them. Apparently i have a slight problem :)

We're in bed by 9 every night, watch TV till about 930 and then i'm out! The hubby may stay up longer some times, but i have a strick tv volume rule that he follows!! I'm so mean!!!

And Marinara all the way!!!

Pesto all the way! I love marinara though. Your dinner looks fabulous! I'm impressed that you were able to wait until it cooked! Although raw chicken would be really gross.
We go to bed around 10:30 or 11. I need some me time and couple time after the kids get put to bed! But I don't get up at o'dark thirty either!

i definitely prefer tomato sauce!

Reply

Ummm, you can stay up until 9pm? I'm usually well on the way to snoozeland, when did I get so lame? Over the summer when I was super cycling all the time I would sit around and wait for 8pm so I could go to bed. Bah.

Also 45 minutes is a long time to wait for things to cook. And pesto is my favorite, but mix pesto with alfredo….put it on some pizza crust, chicken, tomatoes, spinach…ok I'm going to go eat my entire fridge now.

Reply

haha nope I go to bed at nine and hubby rarely goes to be before midnight. Then I wake up at 4/5amish and he wakes up at 9. i know, so lame.

pesto, baby. its all about the good homemade pesto. or marinara. or alfredo. as long as its homemade, i love it. mmm pasta!

I try to go to bed by 10 every night. I love going to bed early and the hubby calls me a grandma. He doesn't come to bed until at least 1am.

I love me some marinara sauce, not a big fan of the alfredo. I always drown my pasta in marinara so I have mounds of it leftover to scoop up with bread!

I vary between being a night owl and my granny (in bed by 9) Sometimes if we're watching something I'll just pass out but other times if I get busy working on something I won't go to bed til midnight.

Marinara. :)

Haha I just refuelled MY workout with thousands of cookies :) Carbs are da bomb.

This may well be a Brit thing, or I may just be stupid/naive/insane, but I have no idea what 'marinera' or 'alfredo' sauces are. But I'll pick my fave anyway: I'm going with 'alfredo'! Because it sounds cooler :)

Hahaha – the remote control airplane picture is so awesome. Billy is a NIGHT OWL and I like to go to sleep earlier. We try to compromise but he's been winning lately and we stay up too late! Before Billy, I went to sleep at 10:00 or 10:30…but before Billy, like wasn't nearly as much fun! :)

I love marinara. Love, love, love it. And Billy makes a great pesto.

OMG I crave carbs after a good run also! I guess I could do a salad as long as there's some kind of baguette or something carbolicous on the side —->that's a new word you know, carbolicous.

I try to be asleep at 10 almost every night. My husband usually goes to bed much later. I don't know when because I am asleep. He tells me I am an old lady for going to sleep so early. Whatever. I can run a marathon and he can't. Hahaha. I'll be using that one for a while.

I'm a marinara kind of girl. Alfredo is too heavy and makes my stomach hurt.

Pesto all the way!! Mmmmm.
I love me some Modern Family. I have some catching up to do, actually.

I try to go to bed by 10:00 every night. If I don't get enough sleep I am not pleasant to be around. Kind of like if I don't have my coffee with soy creamer and one sugar in the raw packet.

Billy is such a good sport and so are you for dodging flying objects. hahah! You make a great team.

I'm kind of a carb addict. And always crave carbs. It's a problem.

Your chicken dish looked delicious! I love my carbs also I can't get enough of them. These days I go to bed around 11 or 12 and am up at 5:45. I know I don't get enough sleep but I can't help myself. I stay up reading blogs and watching my shows, which Modern Family is one of my favs! When it comes to alfredo or marinara I must say it's mixing the 2. My favorite dish is chicken parm with marinara and a side of fett alfredo then mix them together. It's awesome!

I am always in bed by 10, except during the summers, seems like we just have more going on so it's 11 then. And dh is a night owl, so we never go to bed or get up at the same time!

I love them both, but if I was forced to try it would be marinera, the really good homemade kind, covered with parm. Funny, today we are having spagetti for lunch, kids had a snow day, but it's just Ragu, no time for homemade today!

Reply

I'm a marinara girl all the way! with extra cheeseeeeeee!

As for bedtime, Right now I'm in bed by 10-10:30 becuase I'm not doing morning cardio… when I get up at 5 for cardio I"m in bed by 8:30-9 at the latest…. and yes, Fritz comes to bed when I do. He needs to assert his dominance over the bed apparently!

marinara for sure!!!

i need sleep. i go to bed between 10-11 every night. mostly 11. i dont make B go to bed with me because he is a little night owl and only needs like 4-6 hours. so he hangs out while i snooze. :)

Marinara…but it can't be too tangy. Alfredo is too rich for me.

I'm not great at consistently getting to bed at a good time because once my daughter is down, it's time for myself. One rule though is once she's in bed, I'm not cleaning or straightening up.

Reply

oh remote control helicopters. One of the guys in our office has one, so he was flying it over our cubes yesterday and we tried to shoot it down with nerf darts. It was hilarious.

We also tried one of those slingshot monkeys that screams when you throw it, but missed terribly with that. Casualties included darts that were stuck to the ceiling, i'm sure they'll fall down eventually

Marinara sauce, I love tomatoes and in my opinion a good marinara can't be beat!

Reply

When I am getting up at 5am to workout my bedtime is 10pm AT THE LATEST! I try to get into bed earlier than that. During the summer we work 40 hours in 4 days and get Fridays off. During that time I go to bed at like 9pm because I am exhausted from running and working.

Marinara all the way.

I haven't eaten lunch yet and your pic just made my stomach rumble…on my way to the kitchen right now, don't you worry. I go marinara. I love the chunky kind with lots of tomatoes :) Also…Modern Family should always take precedence over cleaning. I am OBSESSED with that show it's so dang funny. Pesto is the bomb…you're right.

Pesto, since it's green, does not add up in calories according to my reasoning. Don't question it, let's just embrace it, ok? :)

Love the 'duck and cover' picture!

I go to bed too late. It's one of my resolutions to go to bed earlier… and I am not abiding by that resolution! We go to bed together usually. Sometimes I go later, though.

Carb of choice right now is brown rice. No sauce… just butter and salt :)

You are a girl after my own heart. Since I get up at 5 am to hit the gym, I am usually in bed by 9 or 10. Hubby's better about going to bed early (and I'm the one that needs to wake up first!) He has to tell me to get ready for bed. Usually we go to bed in the 11-12 range, It should probably be earlier though.

Alfredo is awesome! or vodka sauce. or pesto.

Alfredo…yum!!!! We have it like twice a year and my hubby gets really ecxited about it. :)

I love to go to bed early…but my husband likes to go to bed late. We try to compromise…or I fall asleep on the couch. :)

I actually read an article about 5 keys to a happy marriage, and one of the 5 was going to bed at the same time. That being said I always go to bed at the same time as my hubby 9:15, but I do get back up from time to time because I just am not tired at that point yet. With age I need less and less sleep. Used to fall asleep on the couch many a nights at 8:30, now I can be going strong at 10:30.

Marinara all the way. The cream in the alfredo gives me a belly ache. Damn my touchy stomach.

Our nightly routine:

8:00 pm – Jason (that's the husband) falls asleep on the couch.

10:00 – 10:30 – Jason decides to go to bed. I tell him, "I'll be there in a minute."

11:00 – 12:15 – I go to bed.

~5:00 am – My alarm goes off and I say to myself, "I'm soooo tired…enough is enough!! I'm definitely going to bed SUPER early tonight!" (Yeah…never happens.)

No doubt Marinera is my toping of choice for Carb load!!!!!
And going to bed with a hot hubby is what I do too! I enjoy the sheets getting warm with the two of us. ;)

I go into wedding plan zone for TWO days and get totally behind with your blog!

The picture of the helicopter attacking you made me laugh out loud. And serious workouts make me crave two things: protein and carbs. Running makes me NEED carbs. I'll come home after a good run and just shove an english muffin in my mouth on my way to the shower to take the edge off. Swimming makes me NEED protein. I'll swim laps while dreaming of egg beaters and tuna melts. So healthy. I remember the day that I broke a mile in the pool, the lifeguard was eating an Italian sub. Italian subs have NEVER appealed to me (only meat I eat is fish), but the smell of it was absolutely destroying me. I was so ready to tackle her to eat the meat out of that sub.

Reply

Alfredo…hands down!

If The Husband would eat Alfredo lasagna I would totally make that instead!

I'm usually an early sleeper, but lately I've been a freaking night owl – my morning workouts have been feeling it!
